The blue-dial Baume & Mercier Clifton Club Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupé is reference 10343, a limited-edition automatic chronograph launched in 2017. What is the Clifton Club Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupé?
Baume & Mercier introduced the Clifton Shelby Cobra collection at SIHH 2017, extending a partnership with Shelby that the brand had announced in 2015. Reference 10343 is the blue-dial Daytona Coupé model. Baume & Mercier now lists it in its Heritage collection and marks it as no longer available through the product page; that does not establish whether any dealer or resale examples remain available.
The collaboration predates this watch: in an April 10, 2015 press release, Baume & Mercier announced two limited-edition men’s watches to commemorate its Shelby partnership. The 2017 Clifton Club reference translates the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupé theme into a sporty chronograph rather than a literal replica of the car.
What does reference 10343 look like?
Blue racing dial
The official product description identifies a Daytona-blue sun-satin dial, three subdials and a perimeter tachymeter. The red chronograph hand carries a fiery cobra detail that Baume & Mercier credits to designer Peter Brock. Horobox’s 2017 hands-on report describes the dial as two-tone blue, with a lighter central stripe recalling the car’s hood stripe; it also notes pedal-shaped chronograph pushers and a grille motif on the case flank.

Horobox further connects a 196 km/h marking on the tachymeter scale with the Daytona Coupé’s speed on the Mulsanne Straight during the 1964 Le Mans race. That interpretation is reported by Horobox, rather than stated on the manufacturer’s product page.
Steel case and strap
Baume & Mercier specifies a polished and satin-finished steel case measuring 44 mm in diameter and 14.9 mm thick, with listed dimensions of 44 × 45.76 mm. The watch has a sapphire caseback and is fitted with a black calfskin strap. Horobox rounded the case thickness to 15 mm in its 2017 article; the difference is a small reporting or rounding variation, not a separate case specification.

The official product listing describes the movement as automatic and gives its reserve and functions. The Valjoux 7750 identification, jewel count and frequency come from Horobox’s contemporary report, not the listed manufacturer specifications. A 50 m water-resistance rating is a specification, not a guarantee of suitability for every water activity; follow the manufacturer’s guidance for the individual watch.
How does 10343 compare with the silver 10342?
Reference 10342 is the direct silver-dial sibling. Baume & Mercier’s listings show that the two share the main steel-case and automatic-chronograph format, but their dial treatments differ.

The published specifications support comparing the dial, case dimensions, calendar and water resistance. They do not establish a different movement class between the references. Choose between them principally by dial preference and by confirming the exact reference and configuration of any specific example.
