But the available information is the maker’s product page and terms—not an independent hands-on review. The central consideration is the trade-off: a distinctive aftermarket appearance comes with different water-resistance claims, a separate maker warranty and consequences for Rolex’s original warranty and service relationship.
What Designa Individual says the Legacy Carbon Daytona is
Designa Individual describes the Legacy as a Cosmograph Daytona in its Carbon collection. The maker says it modifies watches but does not manufacture or sell the underlying customer watches, and explicitly states it is not sponsored by or affiliated with Rolex. The listed specifications and commercial terms below are the company’s claims, not independently verified measurements.

The page’s edition count, price, estimated timing and warranty should be confirmed with the seller before ordering; availability and terms can change. Ask for the warranty document and its exclusions rather than assuming that “international” means every repair, component or location is covered.
What “hands-on” can—and cannot—mean here
The available material does not establish independent physical inspection, owner measurements, accuracy testing or assessment of finishing and comfort. It would therefore be misleading to describe the watch’s tactile feel, real-world weight, chronograph performance or build quality as observed facts. The 63 g weight and other specifications above are listing claims.
For a buyer evaluating the watch in person, useful checks include whether the delivered piece matches the listing, what components were changed, what documentation accompanies the movement and certification, and what testing supports the stated 5 ATM sealing. Request the details in writing and clarify who performs any future inspection or repair.

How the modified watch differs from the standard Daytona specification
Rolex’s May 2020 user guide describes the Cosmograph Daytona as a chronograph with a central chronograph seconds hand, 30-minute and 12-hour counters, and a tachymetric bezel. For the standard Oyster case, it gives a 40 mm size and says the watch is guaranteed waterproof to 100 m when the crown and pushers are screwed down. Designa Individual instead lists a titanium/carbon case and 5 ATM sealing for its customized Legacy. These are claims about different configurations, and the standard model’s 100 m figure should not be assumed to apply to the modified watch.
Rolex’s specifications are in its official user guide; the modified watch’s specifications are in the maker’s listing. A rating alone does not establish what testing was performed on this particular customized watch, so ask Designa Individual for the supporting test information and the warranty treatment of water damage.

Customized Rolex warranty: does customizing a Rolex void the warranty?
Designa Individual’s terms say that most watch brands do not approve unauthorized modifications and that the original warranty becomes invalid. The company separately advertises an international seven-year warranty for this Legacy edition. That is a maker warranty, not a restoration or extension of Rolex’s original warranty; its coverage, exclusions, repair process and transferability need to be checked in the actual warranty terms.

What to clarify before buying
- Exact configuration: Get a written list of the parts changed and any work performed on the movement, case, bezel and sealing.
- Water resistance: Ask what test supports the 5 ATM claim, when it was performed and whether the maker warranty covers water ingress.
- Warranty responsibility: Confirm who handles claims, where repairs take place, what is excluded and whether the seven-year term applies to the specific watch being offered.
- Availability and delivery: Confirm that the listed 01/05 edition is available and whether the 10–14 week estimate begins after order confirmation.
- Ownership and resale: The cited Designa Individual terms say bespoke products are for private personal use and prohibit resale or transfer. Ask the seller for the current contract language and seek appropriate legal advice before treating that clause as enforceable or assuming the watch can be freely resold.
Is a carbon Daytona customization the right trade-off?
The Legacy listing may appeal to someone who specifically wants the maker’s carbon-and-titanium treatment, but its price and bespoke presentation do not make it equivalent to an unmodified Rolex in warranty, water-resistance specification or service path. Compare the exact parts and documentation, the modified watch’s own test evidence, the maker’s written warranty and the practical repair route—not just the Daytona name or the appearance.
