Baume & Mercier introduced the Riviera GMT in February 2023 as a 42 mm automatic travel watch in two versions: reference 10658 with a silver dial and steel strap, and reference 10659 with a blue dial and blue rubber strap. Both use a red 24-hour hand to show a second time zone. As of 8 October 2026, the official US pages mark both models “no longer available” through those pages.
What is the Baume & Mercier Riviera GMT?
The Riviera GMT is the travel-time addition to Baume & Mercier’s fifth-generation Riviera, introduced in 2021. The Riviera collection dates to 1973. The company announced the two GMT references, M0A10658 and M0A10659, on 14 February 2023 in its official launch release.
Both are self-winding, 42 mm steel watches with a date, a 42-hour power reserve and 100 m water resistance, according to the manufacturer. Their defining feature is an additional central hand for tracking another time zone.
How does the Riviera GMT work?
The red fourth hand completes one rotation every 24 hours and indicates the second time zone against a scale around the edge of the dial. Set it to the hour in the other location, then read its position on that peripheral 24-hour scale. The regular hour and minute hands continue to show local time; the date supplies the calendar display.

Baume & Mercier describes the purpose this way: “These travel watches feature a fourth hand so the wearer may instantly read the time in a second time zone.” The additional hand makes a second hour visible at a glance without replacing the ordinary local-time display.

The principal distinction is the look and strap material, not the GMT function or the core specifications listed by the manufacturer. A steel bracelet and rubber strap will feel and behave differently on the wrist, but which suits you is a personal preference; no comparative wear testing is established here.

Both models are presented with an interchangeable Fast Strap system. The product pages list compatible strap options, but check the strap code and fit against the exact reference before ordering rather than assuming every Riviera strap will fit.
