BEHRENS describes a hidden winding and setting mechanism integrated into the case. GPHG explains that the design lets the crown be replaced by a concealed lever, preserving the flow of the case’s lines and edges. These are the brands’ and award organization’s descriptions of the design, rather than independent assessments of its ergonomics.
Is it a mechanical watch, and what movement does it use?
Yes. GPHG classifies the Orion One as self-winding mechanical and lists a 38-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. BEHRENS identifies the base movement as SWB18-200. Fratello Watches’ 2024 hands-on review describes a Sellita SW200 with a BEHRENS module, and reports manual winding and hacking seconds. Those descriptions come from different sources and should not be treated as interchangeable movement labels.

GPHG describes the faceted steel case as inspired by an alien mothership, while BEHRENS emphasizes its integrated lever and the uninterrupted case profile. BEHRENS also describes the strap attachment as a sliding quick-release system. These features support the Orion One’s futuristic design, but the available descriptions do not establish compatibility with ordinary replacement straps.
How much does the Behrens Orion One cost?
Prices published for the watch vary by source and market. BEHRENS’ official store displayed a price of $3,600 USD on October 7, 2026; the page does not state when that price was introduced. GPHG lists 3,300 CHF including VAT, with no year stated for that listing. Fratello Watches reported US$3,600 in its November 2, 2024 review. BEHRENS lists an Orion One-specific fluoroelastomer strap in black or white. The official strap page displayed $188 USD and two wrist-size ranges, 16–21 cm and 17–22 cm, on October 7, 2026; the page does not state when the price was introduced. Confirm the current listing, sizing and attachment compatibility before ordering. Fratello’s 2024 review describes a white FKM strap and an additional black strap in the package, but package contents may vary by seller or listing.
What should buyers know about warranty and service?
BEHRENS’ store states that direct purchases include a five-year warranty without registration. For purchases from other retail stores, it states a three-year warranty with an option to register for an extension to five years. The store also identifies Shenzhen as the location of its global after-sales center and recommends professional maintenance there.
