What is the Bell & Ross BR 01 Burning Skull?
The BR 01 Burning Skull is a limited-edition member of Bell & Ross’s Skull collection. The manufacturer dates the original BR 01 Skull to 2009 and the Burning Skull to 2016. It describes the latter’s design as a combination of military symbolism and tattoo art, with engraved sparks and black lacquer intended to evoke tattoo ink. The exact reference is BR0192-SKULL-BURN. Its defining visual feature is not merely a skull on the dial: the flame motif extends across the engraved case, with the black lacquer emphasizing the cut lines.
How big is the BR 01 Burning Skull?
Bell & Ross specifies a case width of 46 mm. That is a substantial diameter, but it does not by itself establish how the watch will sit on a particular wrist; the cited manufacturer listing does not provide a case thickness or other fit measurements. The case is engraved and micro-blasted steel, with a screw-down crown.

What makes the Burning Skull different from other BR 01 watches?
The distinction is its treatment of the skull theme across both dial and case. In his 1 September 2016 review for Time+Tide, Felix Scholz describes flames engraved across the 46 mm steel case, including its sides and caseback, with black lacquer in the engraved lines. He also points to additional rose, heart, hourglass and ace-of-spades motifs, a relief-rendered skull and sword-shaped hands. Those are Scholz’s dated visual observations, not fresh testing.

The result is a more decorative and overtly themed take on the BR 01 design than a straightforward instrument-style presentation. Scholz connected the imagery to Bell & Ross’s aviation associations and the skull motif used by US Airborne Divisions. He praised the unexpected combination of tattoo art and aviation and wrote: “For me it’s a perfect summation of what the brand does so well, which is to playfully mix their own distinctive design DNA with the unexpected.” Time+Tide Watches, 1 September 2016.
Is the Bell & Ross Burning Skull automatic?
Yes. Bell & Ross lists a mechanical automatic BR-CAL.302 movement. The stated functions are hours and minutes; no additional complication is listed in the cited product page. The available product information does not specify a power reserve or accuracy tolerance.

How many BR 01 Burning Skull watches were made?
Bell & Ross lists the model as a limited edition of 500 pieces. Time+Tide also reported the 500-piece limit in its 2016 launch-era coverage. A limited production number describes the edition size; it does not establish current market value or future appreciation.

Bell & Ross’s Australian regional product listing displayed AUD 11,000 and marked the watch sold out. That result was crawled approximately 11 months before October 2026, so neither the status nor price should be treated as a confirmed current global listing. Time+Tide reported $11,000 as Australian launch-era pricing in 2016; that historical figure is not a current resale valuation.
