Its white-and-blue dial and blue tachymeter ring draw on aviation instruments and Bell & Ross’s BR-Bird aircraft story. The available published material establishes its specifications, but not firsthand wear, timing, or legibility results—so this guide sticks to what the manufacturer and cited model coverage document.
What is the BR V2-94 Racing Bird?
Bell & Ross positions the Racing Bird as an aviation-themed version of its BR V2-94 chronograph. The manufacturer describes the design as a connection between the brand’s cockpit-inspired watchmaking and its BR-Bird aircraft. Its product page says: “While the Bell & Ross adventure began in a cockpit, with the idea of designing watches directly inspired by aeronautical instrumentation and the great hours of aviation, it continues today on the wrist, of course, but also in the air, under the BR-Bird colors.” That is brand copy describing the design narrative, rather than an independent account of the aircraft or the watch’s performance. Bell & Ross’s Racing Bird page provides that narrative; Hodinkee’s model introduction also describes the white dial, two-register layout, and blue, grey, and orange accents.
Bell & Ross identifies the watch as a limited edition of 999 pieces. The US calfskin product page gives that version the reference BRV294-BB-ST/SCA. The European steel-bracelet page uses a different reference, BRV294-BB-ST/SST, so strap or bracelet configuration matters when identifying a particular listing.
Dial, case and controls
The case is polished-satin steel and measures 41 mm in diameter. It has a steel bezel fitted with a blue anodized aluminum tachymeter ring, a sapphire caseback, and an ultra-domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Bell & Ross rates water resistance at 100 m. Those figures are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements.

The white dial uses blue painted numerals. The hour and minute hands are skeletonized metal and filled with Super-LumiNova. The central chronograph seconds hand and the two-register layout give the dial its timing functions; the small seconds and date are additional displays. Although these specifications indicate luminous material and an anti-reflective crystal, no cited source establishes real-world legibility in particular lighting or viewing conditions.
The cited US configuration is shown on a blue calfskin strap with orange lining and a polished-satin steel folding clasp. Bell & Ross also lists a polished-satin steel option, while its European listing is specifically for a steel-bracelet variant. Check the reference and actual listing photographs before assuming which strap or bracelet is included.

Movement and chronograph functions
The watch is powered by BR-CAL.301, a mechanical movement with automatic winding. Bell & Ross’s BR V-94 / BR-CAL.301 user guide gives an approximate power reserve of 40 hours. This is the guide’s stated figure, not a measured result for an individual watch.
The displayed functions are hours, minutes, small seconds, date, central chronograph seconds, and a 30-minute counter at 9 o’clock. The user guide describes the caliber’s chronograph as having two counters: a 60-second timer and a 30-minute timer. The published specifications do not establish chronograph accuracy or measured timing performance.

What published information does—and does not—tell you
The published specifications answer the factual questions about size, movement, functions, water resistance, and edition size. They do not establish how the watch wears on a particular wrist, whether its dial is easy to read in practice, or how accurately its chronograph performs. Those are experience-dependent judgments and should not be inferred from the product description.
For ownership paperwork, Bell & Ross’s user guide says the warranty card must be activated at purchase by an approved point of sale and presented for interventions. The same guide contains winding and quickset-date instructions; consult the current manufacturer guidance for operating or service advice.
