Which bracelet fits the Geophysic Universal Time?
Steel-bracelet configurations are documented for the Geophysic Universal Time, but the reference matters. European Watch Company describes Q8108420 as a 41.6 mm stainless-steel watch with a steel bracelet; Essential Watches lists 8108120 on a steel bracelet. These are seller records, not a current official Jaeger-LeCoultre bracelet specification. European Watch Company’s Q8108420 listing is marked sold, while Essential Watches’ listing describes Q8108420 as a strap configuration and 8108120 as a steel-bracelet configuration. The differing seller catalog descriptions make it especially important to verify the exact watch rather than infer fit from a similar reference.
YourAsset likewise describes reference 8108120 as a steel-bracelet version added in 2017; treat that as secondary reference context, not a fitment specification. YourAsset’s 8108120 reference page does not establish bracelet dimensions or interchangeability with other Geophysic models.
What is not confirmed about replacement fit?
The available sources do not establish an official OEM bracelet part number, the lug width for each Universal Time reference, the end-link profile, clasp compatibility, or current OEM stock. Nor do they verify a generic replacement bracelet. A 20 mm bracelet may appear in broad searches, but that alone does not show it fits this watch or that its end links will seat correctly.

Jaeger-LeCoultre publishes dimensions for individual strap products. For example, its QC05A12C calfskin strap page states a 20 mm lug width and 18 mm buckle width and describes that strap as having quick-release interchangeability. Those are specifications for that strap, not proof of the Universal Time’s bracelet size or compatibility. The quick-release wording should not be taken to mean the Universal Time bracelet itself is quick-release.
How to check before buying a replacement
- Identify the watch. Read the full reference from the watch’s documentation or case and provide it to Jaeger-LeCoultre or an authorized dealer. Do not rely on the family name alone.
- Ask for model-specific confirmation. Have the dealer confirm the correct bracelet for that reference, including whether an OEM bracelet is available and the correct end-link and clasp arrangement.
- Check the actual fit details. For any proposed replacement, verify lug width, end-link shape, clasp compatibility, bracelet length and adjustment range, and whether the material and finish match the case.
- Confirm the seller’s terms. Ask about provenance, condition, return eligibility, and availability in writing before purchasing, especially for a used or aftermarket bracelet.
JLC says customers can visit a boutique or authorized dealer for strap changes. That guidance supports using an authorized service route for assistance; it does not establish that a particular bracelet is in stock or that every configuration can be changed without additional parts. The cited strap listing is for a strap product, not a Universal Time bracelet parts catalog.

Care considerations when changing or wearing the bracelet
For water resistance, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s care guidance recommends having the watch checked by an authorized retailer at least every two years, and before any period when it may undergo prolonged or regular immersion. It also advises against using the crown or controls underwater or before the watch has dried after immersion. The same guidance says leather straps are unsuitable for aquatic activities. This matters if a bracelet watch is being changed to a leather strap: do not treat the strap’s stated dimensions or quick-release feature as evidence that it is suitable for the Universal Time without confirming fit, and follow the manufacturer’s care advice for the strap material.
