What is the BR-X5 Blue Lum?

How the blue-luminous case is constructed
The case combines a microblasted Grade 2 titanium container with a DLC finish and blue-luminescent composite inserts above and below it. A luminescent composite insert is also fitted to the fixed bezel. The black dial has blue Super-LumiNova-filled indexes and hands. In other words, the luminous effect comes from selected inserts and dial elements within the BR-X5 architecture; Bell & Ross does not describe the watch as having a solid luminous-material case.
Bell & Ross calls the case material LM3D and describes it as a composite of epoxy quartz fibre, luminescent material and resin. The brand says it produces uniform luminosity and is “70% lighter than steel.” That weight comparison and the luminosity description are manufacturer claims; no independent comparative material test is established here.
