The BR V1-92 Bellytanker is the smaller, simpler option: a 38.5 mm three-hand automatic watch with a date and smooth bezel. The 41 mm BR V2-94 adds a chronograph and tachymeter bezel. Both share the gilt-style dial concept, domed sapphire crystal and 100 m water resistance. The observations below on appearance come from Monochrome Watches’ September 2017 hands-on review, not a new inspection; current Bell & Ross US pages list both watches as unavailable.

What the design is drawing on
Bell & Ross says the collection takes its round case from the Vintage line and evokes American record-breaking races of the 1950s. That is the brand’s design framing, rather than a claim that either watch is a replica of a particular race car or period instrument. Both current US product descriptions specify a gold-plated dial, ultra-domed anti-reflective sapphire and 100 m water resistance.
In its September 2017 review, Monochrome Watches described the V1-92 as restrained and the V2-94 as the sportier chronograph. The reviewer noted the gilt or copper-toned dial, black minute track and black chronograph counters on the V2-94, as well as reflections and visual effects from the strongly domed sapphire. Those are observations in that dated review, not present-day hands-on findings.

Choosing between the two
Choose the V1-92 for a cleaner, smaller layout
The V1-92 keeps the dial to time, central seconds and date, with a smooth bezel. Its 38.5 mm diameter is the smaller of the pair, but diameter alone cannot determine fit: wrist shape, lug geometry, strap and personal preference all matter. The official US listing shows it on brown calfskin.
Choose the V2-94 for timing functions
The V2-94 adds a chronograph, small seconds, a 30-minute counter and a tachymeter-marked bezel. It is 2.5 mm wider than the V1-92 and has a more information-dense dial. The official US page lists brown calfskin and a polished-satin steel bracelet as options.

Limited-edition status and movement details
Monochrome’s 2017 launch-era report says each model was limited to 500 pieces. Bell & Ross’s current regional V2-94 product page also states “Limited edition of 500 pieces.” The available current regional statement specifically concerns the V2-94; the 500-piece figure for both watches is reported by the 2017 review.
Monochrome reported the V1-92’s BR-CAL.302 as based on the Sellita SW300-1 with a 38-hour power reserve, and the V2-94’s BR-CAL.301 as based on the ETA 2894-2 with a 42-hour reserve. These are launch-era review details; the current US product-page descriptions identify the calibers but do not repeat those base-movement or reserve figures.

Launch prices versus current US listings
Monochrome reported these euro prices at launch in 2017: €2,300 for the V1-92, €3,990 for the V2-94 on leather and €4,300 for the V2-94 on bracelet. They are historical retail prices, not current asking prices, valuations or a guide to present-day availability. The separate US page figures above are current page listings that are marked unavailable, not confirmation of stock.
