What is the Benrus Orbit Robot?
The current Orbit Robot Skindiver is a modern reissue presented as a revival of Benrus’s 1972 Orbit Robot. Benrus described that lineage in a March 1, 2023 product email, and Professional Watches likewise connects the current design to the 1972 original. The available sources do not establish detailed specifications for the original model, so this review focuses on the modern watch.
Its defining visual choices are a brushed, cushion-shaped stainless-steel case and a grey fumé dial that lightens toward the centre and darkens at the edge. Orange rectangular hour and minute hands, an orange seconds-hand tip, and square applied indices give the display contrast. The indices and hands are described as having BGW9 Super-LumiNova, but actual brightness and duration have not been independently assessed.
How big is the Benrus Orbit Robot?
Professional Watches reports a 41 mm case diameter, 13 mm thickness, and 43 mm lug-to-lug. Benrus’s 2023 product email lists 41 mm diameter without the crown, 43 mm including it, 13 mm height, and the same 43 mm lug-to-lug length. Those measurements describe a relatively compact reach across the wrist for a 41 mm-wide cushion case, though the 13 mm thickness and individual wrist shape will affect how it wears.

Benrus specifies a 20 mm bracelet or strap size. Confirm fit for the exact watch and attachment before buying a replacement strap; the listing alone does not establish compatibility with every version or aftermarket fitting.
What movement is in the Benrus Orbit Robot?
The watch is listed with an automatic, Swiss-made Soprod P024 movement, a date display, and a stated 38-hour power reserve. Benrus specifies a quick-set date. The sources do not report measured accuracy, service intervals, or performance over time, so the stated reserve and movement identification are product specifications rather than independent test results.

Benrus describes the case as 316L stainless steel with a screw-down crown; Professional Watches also reports a screw-down caseback and domed sapphire crystal. These details give the watch a conventional, robustly specified diver-style construction. The published water-resistance figure is 200 metres at Professional Watches and 20 ATM in Benrus’s launch email.
That rating should not be treated as evidence that this particular watch has been independently tested for diving, or that its seal remains intact after wear or service. The available material does not document a unit-specific pressure test or performance in water.

There is also an unresolved difference in bezel descriptions. Professional Watches calls it a rotating dive bezel, while Benrus’s product email calls it a stainless-steel friction-fit bezel with a luminous triangle at 12 o’clock. Since the sources do not reconcile those descriptions, confirm the bezel’s mechanism on the exact unit rather than assuming it has a particular operation.

At the time of that WatchPilot listing, the retailer also described a two-year WatchPilot warranty and a 60-day return policy for unused goods under its stated conditions. Check the retailer’s current terms before relying on either. These are retailer-specific conditions, not evidence of Benrus’s warranty coverage.
Is the Benrus Orbit Robot worth it?
The strongest case for the Orbit Robot is its distinctive, historically linked cushion-case design, paired with a clearly specified automatic movement, sapphire crystal, and diver-style water-resistance rating. Its 41 mm diameter and 43 mm lug-to-lug provide useful sizing information, and the 20 mm strap size gives a standard starting point for strap selection.

The main buying uncertainties are practical rather than cosmetic: the bezel mechanism is described inconsistently, real-world accuracy and comfort are not established, and neither water resistance under use nor current pricing and stock are verified. Anyone prioritising confirmed dive performance, tested movement results, or a current guaranteed price should seek unit-specific confirmation before purchase.
