Best Black Friday Garmin deals 2025: major smartwatch savings on Forerunners, fēnix and more

Black Friday 2025 delivered major discounts on Garmin’s Forerunner, fēnix, Epix, vívoactive and Instinct watches. Here are the best historical deals by use case—and the configurations that mattered.

Archive notice: This is a historical roundup of Black Friday 2025 Garmin prices. Black Friday fell on November 28, 2025, followed by Cyber Monday on December 1. The offers below have expired and should not be treated as current prices.

The best documented value was generally found in discounted previous-generation watches: the Forerunner 265 for serious runners, the vívoactive 5 for everyday fitness, and the fēnix 7 Pro or Epix Gen 2/Pro for outdoor users. The largest dollar savings were attached to expensive fēnix and Epix configurations, but the biggest discount was not automatically the best buy.

Best Garmin Black Friday deals at a glance

Best for Watch Historical price Reported saving Retailer/source Why it stood out
Overall value Forerunner 265 $299.99–$349.99 $100–$150 Amazon and other retailers Strong running and triathlon features without flagship pricing
Premium running Forerunner 965 $449–$499 $100–$150 Amazon and other retailers Premium AMOLED running watch with maps
Outdoor value fēnix 7 Pro About $500–$600, depending on edition Up to $250 reported Amazon and other retailers Rugged construction, navigation and long battery potential
Flagship outdoor fēnix 8 Varied by configuration About 21–25% in reported deals Retailers Current high-end multisport feature set
Budget running Forerunner 55 $149 $50 Amazon Low-cost entry to Garmin GPS running
Everyday fitness vívoactive 5 $189.99 $100 Walmart Clear value for wellness, gym and general activity tracking
AMOLED outdoor use Epix Gen 2 or Epix Pro About $499 in some reports Up to $500 reported for particular variants Amazon and other retailers Bright AMOLED display at a potentially steep discount
Rugged battery life Instinct 2 or Instinct 3 Instinct 3: $100 off reported $100 on selected Instinct 3 models Best Buy and other retailers Durability and endurance over smartwatch-style visuals

These were reported US prices, not one universal price for every version. Case size, color, lens, Solar or AMOLED hardware, Sapphire glass, music support and retailer inventory could all change the final price. See the Forbes Vetted roundup, TechRadar coverage and Cyclingnews deal tracker for the dated reports behind these figures.

The best Forerunner deals

Forerunner 55: the budget running choice

The Forerunner 55 reached a reported $149 at Amazon, down from $199. It was the straightforward choice for a new runner who mainly needed GPS, pace, distance and basic training guidance.

#1 Best Overall
Sale
Garmin Forerunner® 165, Running Smartwatch, 43mm, Black
  • Easy-to-use running smartwatch with built-in GPS for pace/distance and wrist-based heart rate; brilliant AMOLED touchscreen display with traditional button controls; lightweight design in 43 mm size
  • Up to 11 days of battery life in smartwatch mode and up to 19 hours in GPS mode
  • Reach your goals with personalized daily suggested workouts that adapt based on performance and recovery; use Garmin Coach and race adaptive training plans to get workout suggestions for specific events
  • 25+ built-in activity profiles include running, cycling, HIIT, strength and more
  • As soon as you wake up, get your morning report with an overview of your sleep, recovery and training outlook alongside weather and HRV status (data presented is intended to be a close estimation of metrics tracked)

Check the exact listing before buying. Retailer pages can group different colors and variants, and a Forerunner listing may not include music support. The 55 is also less capable than newer AMOLED models and is not the right choice for advanced triathlon training or onboard maps.

Forerunner 165: the entry-level AMOLED upgrade

The Forerunner 165 sits above the 55 for buyers who want a modern AMOLED screen and newer training and recovery features. Garmin categorizes it as an entry-level running GPS smartwatch in its official running-watch comparison.

The dossier documents the 165 as a recommended category rather than providing one reliable Black Friday price, so it should not be assigned a fabricated “lowest” figure. It makes sense when an actual discount leaves it comfortably below the 265 and the buyer values display quality more than advanced multisport features.

Forerunner 265: the strongest value for serious runners

The Forerunner 265 was one of the most compelling deals of the event. Reports placed it at either $299.99 or $349.99 against a $449.99 reference price, depending on retailer and timing. That produces a documented range of $100–$150 in savings rather than one definitive Black Friday price.

It is the value sweet spot for regular runners and triathletes because Garmin places it above the 165 and includes features such as multisport activity profiles, training readiness, recovery time, music storage and multi-band GPS on the relevant model. The 265 and 265S are different sizes; do not assume the lowest price applies to both.

Garmin Forerunner 55, GPS Running Watch with Daily Suggested Workouts, Up to 2 Weeks of Battery Life, Black - 010-02562-00
  • Easy-to-use running watch monitors heart rate (this is not a medical device) at the wrist and uses GPS to track how far, how fast and where you’ve run.Special Feature:Bluetooth.
  • Battery life: up to 2 weeks in smartwatch mode; up to 20 hours in GPS mode
  • Plan your race day strategy with the PacePro feature (not compatible with on-device courses), which offers GPS-based pace guidance for a selected course or distance
  • Run your best with helpful training tools, including race time predictions and finish time estimates
  • Track all the ways you move with built-in activity profiles for running, cycling, track run, virtual run, pool swim, Pilates, HIIT, breathwork and more

For most runners, this was a smarter purchase than stretching to a fēnix simply because the latter had a larger dollar discount. Choose the fēnix instead when you genuinely need its outdoor construction, navigation options or broader expedition-oriented feature set.

Forerunner 965: the premium running bargain

The Forerunner 965 appeared at about $499 in one report and later at $449 in coverage, against a $599 reference price. The lower figure was the standout historical price, but both should be treated as dated retailer reports.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Garmin classifies the 965 as a premium running and triathlon GPS smartwatch with maps. It is the better Forerunner for advanced runners who want onboard mapping, a larger premium display and higher-end training features. If it is only slightly more expensive than the 265, the upgrade can be persuasive. If the price gap is large and you do not use maps, the 265 is usually the more rational value.

fēnix and Epix deals

fēnix 7 Pro: the outdoor value pick

The fēnix 7 Pro received reported reductions ranging from roughly $135 to $250, with prices around $500–$600 for particular editions. It was arguably the best outdoor bargain for hikers, trail runners and multisport users who could accept an older generation.

“fēnix 7 Pro” is not a single specification. Confirm whether the listing is 42mm, 47mm or 51mm, and whether it uses standard glass, Sapphire or Solar hardware. Those choices affect fit, weight, screen characteristics, battery expectations and value. A deeply discounted standard-glass model may be a better deal than a lightly discounted Sapphire edition.

Rank #3
Garmin Forerunner® 265, Running Smartwatch, 46mm, Black/Powder Gray
  • Brilliant AMOLED touchscreen display with traditional button controls; lightweight design in 46 mm size
  • Up to 13 days of battery life in smartwatch mode and up to 20 hours in GPS mode
  • As soon as you wake up, get your morning report with an overview of your sleep, recovery and training outlook alongside HRV status, training readiness and weather (data presented is intended to be a close estimation of metrics tracked)
  • Plan race strategy with personalized daily suggested workouts based on the race and course that you input into the Garmin Connect app and then view the race widget on your watch; daily suggested workouts adapt after every run to match performance and recovery
  • Training readiness score is based on sleep quality, recovery, training load and HRV status to determine if you’re primed to go hard and get the most out of your workout (data presented is intended to be a close estimation of metrics tracked)

fēnix 8: the flagship discount

Retailer coverage reported fēnix 8 discounts of roughly 21–25%, often representing about $200–$300 depending on the model. This was the right deal for a buyer who specifically wanted flagship multisport functions, premium construction, mapping, multi-band GPS, training readiness and the applicable version’s additional hardware such as an LED flashlight.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

It was not automatically the best Garmin purchase. The fēnix 8 remains expensive after a percentage discount, and a Forerunner 965, fēnix 7 Pro or Epix Pro may deliver the relevant training and navigation functions for less. Separate AMOLED from Solar versions and standard from Sapphire versions before comparing prices.

Epix Gen 2 and Epix Pro: the AMOLED outdoor alternative

Some Epix Gen 2 and Epix Pro configurations were reported around $499, with savings as high as about $500 for particular editions. That headline saving cannot be generalized across the Epix family: Gen 2, Pro, Sapphire versions and case sizes had materially different reference prices and features.

Epix was the natural choice for outdoor buyers who preferred an AMOLED screen. Compare it with fēnix on more than display type: generation, mapping features, materials, battery expectations and exact size all matter. Do not call an Epix deal “half price” unless the exact SKU and reference price support it.

vívoactive, Venu and Instinct deals

vívoactive 5: the everyday fitness bargain

The vívoactive 5 reached a reported $189.99 at Walmart, down from $299.99. It was one of the clearest mass-market value deals for sleep, wellness, gym sessions and general activity tracking.

Garmin Forerunner® 165, Running Smartwatch, 43mm, Whitestone

It is a better fit than a fēnix or advanced Forerunner for casual fitness buyers who do not need maps or detailed running analytics. The Venu 3 and 3S are more lifestyle-oriented AMOLED options, including microphones and speakers for calls and texts, but paying a large premium for Venu makes little sense if basic fitness tracking is all you need. Garmin separates Venu as a premium health-and-fitness line and vívoactive as a health-and-fitness GPS smartwatch.

Instinct 2 and Instinct 3: rugged, endurance-first options

Instinct 3 deals included a reported $100 reduction at Best Buy during the early Black Friday period. Instinct 2 was the value alternative for buyers who prioritized ruggedness and battery life over a phone-like display; some configurations carried manufacturer estimates of up to 28 days, depending on mode and model.

Instinct 3 is newer, but Solar and AMOLED versions are not interchangeable. A monochrome Instinct may be easier to justify for long outdoor use, while AMOLED is more attractive for daily smartwatch viewing. Check the exact battery mode, case size and display before comparing the $100 saving.

Which Garmin should you buy?

  • Under $200: Choose the Forerunner 55 for basic running or the vívoactive 5 for broader everyday fitness, if the historical price is available in the relevant sale.
  • You are a new runner who wants AMOLED: Look for the Forerunner 165.
  • You run regularly or train for triathlon: The Forerunner 265 was the best value-oriented choice.
  • You want maps for running: Choose the Forerunner 965 when its price is close enough to the 265 to justify the premium.
  • You hike, trail-run or compete across multiple sports: Compare a discounted fēnix 7 Pro with fēnix 8.
  • You want AMOLED outdoors: Consider an Epix Gen 2 or Epix Pro if it is substantially cheaper than the comparable fēnix.
  • You want maximum ruggedness and endurance: Choose Instinct 2 for value or Instinct 3 for the newer platform.
  • You want calls, a large app ecosystem or a phone-like smartwatch: Garmin generally prioritizes sports data, GPS and battery life over Apple Watch or Wear OS-style platform features, so another ecosystem may suit you better.

Should you buy an older Garmin?

Yes, when the discount compensates for the age and the watch has the features you will actually use. A fēnix 7 Pro or Epix Gen 2 can be better value than a newer fēnix 8, while a Forerunner 265 can be more sensible than a heavily discounted premium outdoor watch for a runner.

Account for generation, screen technology, battery condition if the item is refurbished or open-box, warranty terms and the uncertainty around future software support. Garmin’s previous-model catalog is useful for identifying discontinued families, but it does not turn an old retailer listing into a current deal.

Black Friday versus Cyber Monday

Garmin discounts appeared before Black Friday and continued through Cyber Weekend. Some early reports covered the Forerunner 965, fēnix 8 and Instinct 3, while other prices were recorded on or after November 28.

Buy early when the desired configuration is already at a documented historical low and in stock. Waiting can make sense if the retailer offers a price guarantee or multiple competing listings remain. Do not assume Cyber Monday will improve the price: the more important risk is losing the required size, color or lens configuration.

How to check a Garmin deal

  1. Identify the complete SKU: Check model, case size, Solar or AMOLED display, Sapphire or standard glass, music support and bundle contents.
  2. Confirm condition: Make sure the listing is new rather than refurbished, renewed, open-box or imported stock.
  3. Compare like for like: A “from” price may apply to one color or size and cannot be used to represent the entire family.
  4. Check retailer terms: Review the return window, warranty handling and seller identity before ordering.
  5. Keep regions separate: US prices cannot be directly compared with UK or other international prices because taxes, inventory and promotions differ.
  6. Use dated language: “Reported lowest price” is safer than “all-time low” or “lowest ever” unless a reliable price-history record proves it.

For current promotions after the 2025 event, consult Garmin’s official promotions page; availability and pricing can change by country, model and date. Garmin also maintains a wearables and smartwatch accessories catalog for compatible bands, charging cables and protection.

Final verdict

The best Black Friday 2025 Garmin deal depended on the job. The Forerunner 265 was the strongest all-round value for serious runners; the Forerunner 965 was the premium running bargain when maps mattered; vívoactive 5 was the standout everyday fitness buy; and discounted fēnix 7 Pro or Epix models offered the best outdoor value when the exact configuration was right. fēnix 8 delivered the flagship deal, but only for buyers who needed flagship capabilities.

Every price in this roundup is historical and expired. Treat the model fit, configuration and retailer terms as more important than the headline percentage discount.
