Price check: August 16, 2026; U.S. offers. Samsung’s advertised Fold7 savings are either up to $500 without a trade-in or up to $1,000 in instant trade-in credit; the maximum depends on the device you surrender. Samsung also advertises up to $250 in instant trade-in credit for the Galaxy Watch8 Classic. Google lists the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 from $749 MSRP, but that is a reference price, not a confirmed retailer sale. Check the checkout total and terms before treating any headline saving as a deal.
At a glance: which deal fits?
| Shopper | What to consider | What the offer means |
|---|---|---|
| Foldable-phone buyer | Galaxy Z Fold7 | Samsung advertises up to $500 off without trade-in or up to $1,000 in instant trade-in credit; neither is a guaranteed price for every configuration or customer. |
| Galaxy Watch buyer | Galaxy Watch8 or Watch8 Classic | The clearest stated maximum is up to $250 in instant trade-in credit for Watch8 Classic; check the selected model and final offer. |
| Student or web-first worker | Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 | Google lists a $749 starting MSRP. A retailer price materially below that is more persuasive than a discount measured only against MSRP. |
| Lower-cost Fold7 shopper | Samsung Certified Re-Newed Fold7 | A renewed device can cost less than new, but it is not new stock; inspect warranty, returns, included accessories and device condition. |
These are U.S.-oriented offers and reference prices, not a promise that every configuration remains in stock or at the same checkout price. Samsung’s Fold7 and Watch8 first went on broad sale July 25, 2025, and by 2026 they are previous-generation products. Compare them with the current successor at checkout, not just with their original list prices. Samsung’s U.S. launch announcement provides the launch timing.
Galaxy Z Fold7: the strongest offer is conditional
Samsung’s direct-purchase offers
Samsung’s U.S. offers page advertises up to $1,000 in instant trade-in credit for the Galaxy Z Fold7, or up to $500 off without a trade-in. “Up to” is a ceiling, not the value every owner receives. Enter the exact trade-in model and condition in the offer flow, then confirm the amount shown for the Fold7 storage and color you intend to buy. The offer page does not establish one guaranteed checkout price for every buyer. Check Samsung’s current offers and select the Fold7 configuration.
For scale, Samsung’s March 2026 U.S. MSRP file lists the Fold7 at $1,999.99 for 256GB, $2,119.99 for 512GB and $2,419.99 for 1TB. Applying the advertised maximum $500 no-trade-in discount to the 256GB MSRP would imply $1,499.99 before tax only if that discount applies to that configuration at checkout. Applying the maximum $1,000 trade-in credit would imply $999.99 before tax only for a qualifying trade-in that actually receives the maximum. These are arithmetic illustrations, not verified checkout quotes. Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP sheet is a reference, not a current street-price listing.

How to calculate the real cost
Use the checkout amount and subtract only value that is guaranteed to you:
Effective cost = checkout price − confirmed trade-in value − guaranteed credits or rebates.
Do not count speculative resale value, promotional store credit as cash, or future carrier bill credits as an immediate discount. Before sending a trade-in, verify its model, condition requirements and stated valuation; damage, activation locks or missing components may reduce or void the quoted amount. Also check whether the offer depends on financing, a storage tier, color or limited promotional window. Taxes and shipping may add to the total.

- A premium foldable smartphone featuring an 8.0" Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display, 6.5" cover display, 200MP main camera, Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, 4,400mAh battery, and a slim 215g design.
Carrier “free” offers are not the same deal
A carrier’s “free” phone commonly means monthly bill credits over a 24- or 36-month installment period, often tied to a new line, eligible plan and qualifying trade-in. Taxes, activation fees, plan charges and an unpaid device balance can remain due. Leaving early may stop future credits, and a carrier-sold phone may be locked initially. The available carrier coverage here centers on newer 2026 foldables, not a verified Fold7 promotion, so do not assume a current carrier offer applies to this model. Android Central’s T-Mobile deal coverage concerns the carrier’s monthly offers, not proof of a Fold7 deal.
Should you buy the Fold7 now?
The Fold7 makes most sense if you will use its large inner screen for multitasking and your confirmed trade-in substantially lowers the cost. If the newer Fold generation is close in price, compare the two models’ final prices and the features you care about before choosing the older device. Skip the deal if the attractive number relies on a trade-in you do not have, a costly plan you would not otherwise buy, or credits you might forfeit by switching carriers.
Galaxy Watch8: distinguish model, size and connectivity
Watch8 and Watch8 Classic offers
Samsung’s U.S. offers page lists up to $250 in instant trade-in credit for Watch8 Classic and a separate no-trade-in discount. The source does not establish a single current checkout price for every Watch8 model, size or connection type. Compare the exact offer for standard Watch8 versus Classic and for 40mm versus 44mm; do not transfer the Classic’s maximum trade-in credit to the standard model. Check Samsung’s Watch offers and its smartwatch lineup.

Bluetooth/Wi-Fi or LTE?
For most buyers, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi is the sensible starting point. Choose LTE only if you expect to leave your phone behind and still need calls or data, and include the carrier’s recurring service charge in the cost comparison. The deal terms provided do not establish an LTE plan price. Confirm your phone compatibility and the exact watch variant before ordering, particularly if you do not use a Samsung phone.
An Australian promotion reported a 40mm LTE Watch8 at AU$374.50 for a short Samsung sale; it is not a U.S. price or evidence of an American discount. TechRadar’s report is specific to that regional promotion.

What the name refers to
“Chromebook Plus 14” here means the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14, not every 14-inch Chromebook and not Samsung’s separately listed Galaxy Chromebook Plus. Google lists this Lenovo model with a MediaTek Kompanio Ultra processor, 16GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 14-inch 1920×1200 display, a clamshell design, 2.78-pound weight and 0.62-inch thickness. Google lists its starting price at $749 MSRP. Google’s Chromebook Plus page has the model details; its Chromebook shop lists the broader lineup.

Google claims up to 17 hours of battery life based on controlled testing of pre-production hardware; real-world runtime depends on workload and settings. Eligible Chromebook Plus purchases may also include Google AI Pro for 12 months at no cost, subject to model eligibility and terms. Treat the subscription as a temporary perk, not a permanent reduction in the laptop’s price. Google’s perks page explains qualifying offers.
When the price makes sense
- Around $400–$500: potentially strong value for a buyer who wants ChromeOS, Google apps, battery life and web-based productivity.
- Around $600–$750: compare carefully with Windows laptops, especially if you need broad desktop-software compatibility.
- Below $400: check whether the listing is refurbished, an older configuration or a different, lower-spec model.
These are buying thresholds, not current quoted retailer prices. Compare the listing against recent street prices and verify processor, memory, storage, display, condition and warranty. Chromebook Plus eligibility covers a baseline of at least 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, a sufficiently modern processor, 1080p webcam and Full HD IPS-or-better display; it does not make every Chromebook Plus model identical. Google’s eligibility guidance sets out the criteria.
Who should pass?
This Lenovo is most compelling for students, travelers, Google Workspace users and web-first workers who do not rely on specialist Windows or macOS applications. Google promotes Chromebook Plus access to applications such as Photoshop and LumaFusion, but app availability is not the same as the full desktop versions. Buyers with professional desktop editing workflows, demanding native PC games, niche peripherals or enterprise software should verify their exact workflow before purchase. Google’s Chromebook overview describes its software positioning, while TechRadar’s Lenovo review discusses the compatibility and price trade-offs.
More worth considering: renewed Foldables
Samsung says its Certified Re-Newed Fold7 and Flip7 devices are sold in like-new condition at reduced prices and may qualify for up to $580 in trade-in savings. That maximum is conditional and should not be counted as a cash discount for every buyer. Compare the renewed checkout price with new stock, and read the specific warranty, return, battery and included-accessory terms before buying; the announcement does not establish all of those details for every listing. Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed announcement describes the program.
Quick Recap
How to avoid a misleading deal
- Start with the exact configuration. Confirm model generation, storage, size, connectivity, color and new versus renewed condition; advertised inventory may not include the configuration you want.
- Read the price mechanism. Separate an unconditional discount from trade-in value, Samsung credit, financing terms, subscription perks and carrier bill credits.
- Check the trade-in in checkout. Confirm the device valuation and condition rules before relying on the headline maximum; keep evidence of the device’s condition and follow shipping instructions.
- Calculate the full ownership cost. Add tax, shipping, activation and any required recurring plan. For LTE watches and carrier phones, include the service cost and the consequences of leaving early.
- Compare generations and street prices. A large markdown from original MSRP can still be poor value if a successor or comparable laptop costs only modestly more. For Chromebooks, use recent retailer pricing rather than MSRP alone; Tom’s Guide’s Chromebook deal coverage offers retailer context, but any listed deal is date-specific.
- Value perks realistically. Count a temporary subscription only if you will use it, qualify for it and understand when it expires; do not treat it as cash off the hardware.
