The Bianchet Flying Tourbillon Grande Date B1.618 is a hand-wound skeleton watch that pairs a flying tourbillon with a large-date display. It debuted in August 2023, so “new” refers to its launch-era introduction, not a 2026 release. Current Bianchet pages list the collection and its variants.
What is new about the Bianchet Flying Tourbillon Grande Date?
The B1.618 brings together two complications in an open, skeletonized design: a 60-second flying tourbillon and a Grande Date. The flying tourbillon is presented without an upper bridge, leaving the rotating assembly visible from the dial side. Bianchet describes the movement as in-house, manually wound, and built around a Grade 5 titanium main plate and bridges. Its Grade 5 titanium tourbillon cage is mounted on ball bearings.
The manufacturer lists 20 jewels, a 3 Hz frequency (21,600 vibrations per hour), and a balance wheel with variable inertia. These are Bianchet’s specifications; the available sources do not establish independent testing of the movement’s performance.
How the carbon case contrasts with the movement
The watch’s central material contrast is between a high-tech composite exterior and the movement’s hand-finished titanium architecture. For Carbon Earth, Bianchet calls the case material Titanium-Dust-High-Density Carbon: 500 layers of 0.03 mm carbon fibre combined with titanium powder. The brand pairs that case with a natural vulcanized-rubber strap and a Grade 5 titanium folding clasp. Glare-proof sapphire crystals cover the bezel and case back.

These are manufacturer claims, not independent laboratory results. A water-resistance rating is not a substitute for checking the watch’s condition and following the maker’s use and maintenance guidance.

These are figures displayed on Bianchet’s current product pages; they do not establish availability, a tax-inclusive total, or a secondary-market price. The Hybrid Gold page also describes a 10% deposit to reserve the watch, but reservation terms should be confirmed with Bianchet. The collection page lists additional carbon and hybrid colourways.

Current specifications and older launch figures
Bianchet’s current Carbon Earth and Hybrid Gold pages list a 90-hour power reserve, with a stated tolerance of ±5%, and case dimensions of 43 × 51 × 14.35 mm. Those are the current manufacturer figures for the listed variants.
The August 2023 GPHG record gives a 70-hour reserve and a 43 × 50 mm case size. Monochrome Watches’ launch article from 2023 instead reports an approximate 90-hour reserve and dimensions of 43 × 51 × 14.35 mm. For present-day specifications, the current Bianchet variant pages are the clearest reference; the older records show why launch-era figures should be identified by source and date.

What is established about production numbers?
Production totals are not consistent across the available published information. Bianchet’s current collection page states limited production of 100 pieces, while Monochrome Watches reported 200 pieces and eight colour variations in its 2023 launch coverage. The Hybrid Gold variant has its own stated limit of 21 pieces. These figures describe different claims and should not be combined into a definitive total for the collection without confirmation from Bianchet.
