What the 2021 titanium Bathyscaphe offers
The titanium Bathyscaphe combines a 43 mm case with 30 bar (approximately 300 m) water resistance, a vertically satin-finished anthracite dial, and a titanium bezel with a ceramic insert and Liquidmetal time scale. Blancpain’s 2021 launch document describes the case as satin-finished Grade 23 titanium. The watch has luminous hands and markers, a sapphire caseback, and the automatic in-house Caliber 1315 movement. Blancpain’s launch specifications identify a five-day, or 120-hour, power reserve and a silicon balance spring.

How it wears and looks
Monochrome’s reviewer found the titanium case lighter on the wrist than its dimensions might suggest, and described the brushed case and vertically brushed grey dial as giving the watch a more instrumental appearance. Those are the reviewer’s impressions rather than comparative test results. The 43 mm diameter and 13.45 mm thickness listed on Blancpain’s current G52A technical page give a useful sense of the case’s proportions; the page also lists a 23 mm distance between horns. Blancpain’s technical specifications list automatic Caliber 1315, a 120-hour reserve, 35 jewels, 227 components, and a 4 Hz frequency.
Choosing strap or bracelet
Sailcloth or NATO
The two strap versions shared the same reported 2021 launch price, CHF 10,800. The sailcloth version is reference 5000-1210-G52A; the NATO version is 5000-1210-NAGA. Blancpain’s current G52A page calls the strap sail-canvas and shows a pin buckle, while its technical section labels the strap material rubber. Because the page uses both descriptions, avoid assuming a more specific construction than the current product information establishes.

Titanium bracelet
The bracelet reference is 5000-1210-98S. Blancpain presented the titanium bracelet as a first for the Bathyscaphe line in the 2021 launch announcement. It carried a CHF 13,200 launch price, compared with CHF 10,800 for either strap configuration. Monochrome’s reviewer noted that the bracelet lacks micro-adjustment. Fit is therefore worth checking in person if fine sizing adjustment is important to you.

Its case for the price rests on a specific combination: a Grade 23 titanium dive-watch case, 30 bar water resistance, ceramic-insert bezel, and a five-day automatic movement with a silicon balance spring. The titanium bracelet version adds the line’s then-new bracelet option, at a substantial premium over the strap models. The reviewer’s favorable points were the lighter feel and restrained, brushed styling; the stated reservations were the date display and lack of bracelet micro-adjustment. The reviewer preferred a no-date layout, but that is a personal preference rather than a product defect. Whether the asking price makes sense depends on how much value you place on the materials, movement specification, and design, and whether the chosen configuration fits your wrist and preferences.
