The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Grande Date reference 5050-12B30-B52A pairs a 45 mm satin-finished titanium case with a large date displayed in two windows at six o’clock. Its defining distinction is that date layout; inside, it retains Blancpain’s self-winding calibre 1315, with three mainspring barrels and a stated five-day power reserve. Blancpain introduced the model at Baselworld 2018.
What is the Fifty Fathoms Grande Date 5050?
Blancpain identifies the watch as the Fifty Fathoms Grande Date, reference 5050-12B30-B52A, in its Baselworld 2018 launch document. It is a Fifty Fathoms diver with a prominent two-window date at six o’clock, rather than the date placement near four o’clock used on earlier modern Fifty Fathoms models, according to Blancpain.
The name “Grande Date” describes that large-date display. Blancpain characterized it as the first time its instant-change large-date complication had been brought to the Fifty Fathoms collection. That is the manufacturer’s own collection-history claim.
How does the large date work?
Two adjacent windows at six o’clock show the date. Blancpain says the indication changes instantly at midnight and is adjusted using the crown. The two-window arrangement gives the date its distinctive visual emphasis while keeping it centered at the bottom of the dial.

Case, dial and bezel
The case measures 45 mm across and is satin-finished titanium, according to Blancpain’s 2018 specifications. The technical data identifies a black dial and a unidirectional sapphire bezel; Blancpain describes its domed sapphire insert as scratch resistant. A sapphire display back exposes the movement.
The 45 mm diameter is a substantial case size on paper. The available manufacturer specifications establish the diameter but do not establish how it wears on a particular wrist; no fit or comfort conclusion should be inferred from the number alone.

Calibre 1315 and power reserve
The watch uses Blancpain’s self-winding calibre 1315. The 2018 launch document specifies three mainspring barrels and a five-day power reserve. Blancpain also says the silicon hairspring protects against magnetic fields without requiring an inner soft-iron case. That construction lets the brand pair the stated magnetic protection with a sapphire display back.
Launch strap options and what is not established
Blancpain’s launch material offered the reference on either a sail-canvas strap or a NATO strap. The material available for this model does not establish lug width, compatibility with aftermarket straps, or current replacement-strap availability, so those details should be confirmed before buying a substitute.

What the specifications tell you—and what they do not
- Distinctive complication: the two-window instant-change date at six o’clock is the model’s clearest point of difference within the modern Fifty Fathoms family described by Blancpain.
- Movement architecture: calibre 1315, three barrels and a five-day stated reserve give the watch a substantial reserve specification, though that figure is Blancpain’s rating rather than a measurement of any individual example.
- Materials and display: titanium case, sapphire bezel insert and display back define the documented construction; the sources do not establish a comparative scratch-resistance or durability result.
- Buying context: the launch documentation dates to 2018. Current price, production status, stock and retailer availability are not established by these specifications, so they require confirmation from Blancpain or an authorized retailer.
