The blue Longines Spirit Pilot comes in two versions: a 39 mm three-hand watch and a 39.5 mm Flyback chronograph. Both are offered on a steel bracelet or blue rubber strap. The main choice is straightforward: the three-hand model is thinner, has a longer stated power reserve and costs less; the Flyback adds chronograph timing and a bidirectional ceramic bezel.
What are the two blue Longines Spirit Pilot models?
In an October 1, 2026 report, Watchonista described two blue-dial additions to the Spirit Pilot line: the three-hand Spirit Pilot and the Spirit Pilot Flyback. Each model has two reported configurations, one with a steel bracelet and one with a blue rubber strap.

How do the Spirit Pilot and Spirit Pilot Flyback differ?
The three-hand version displays hours, minutes and seconds. The Flyback adds a chronograph, with small seconds, and a blue ceramic bidirectional bezel. Its flyback function lets the wearer reset and restart timing in one operation, useful for successive intervals. That is a watch complication, not evidence that the watch is flight equipment or required for aviation.

Which version makes more sense for you?
Choose the three-hand Spirit Pilot for a simpler, slimmer watch
At 11.50 mm thick, the three-hand model is 1.90 mm thinner than the Flyback. It also has the longer stated reserve—72 hours versus 68—and omits the chronograph controls and timing complication. It is the more direct option if you want the blue-dial design and basic time display.
Choose the Flyback if you will use its timing function
The Flyback is slightly wider and thicker, and its chronograph provides an additional timing function. The quick reset-and-restart action is useful when measuring consecutive intervals. Its bidirectional ceramic bezel is another visual and functional distinction from the three-hand model.
Rank #2
- Automatic L844 movement, hours, minutes, seconds and date. 24 hours hand with time zone mechanism
- Stainless steel with double safety folding clasp and push-piece opening mechanism
Both are reported as COSC-certified self-winding watches with 10 ATM water resistance. Those shared specifications do not make them identical in wear: the Flyback’s greater thickness and extra controls are the practical trade-off for its chronograph.
What are the reported prices?
Watchonista reported the following prices in Swiss francs. These are the article’s listed prices, not a live price check; current prices, taxes, and availability can vary by market and retailer.

|---|---|---|
| Spirit Pilot | CHF 2,500 | CHF 2,200 |
| Spirit Pilot Flyback | CHF 4,600 | CHF 4,300 |

Availability and strap details to confirm
The October 1 report said both models were available through Longines boutiques and retailers at publication. That statement does not establish current stock in a particular country or store. Contact the retailer to confirm availability, the exact reference, and the price in your market.

The report does not specify strap width or whether the rubber strap can be purchased separately and fitted to another configuration. Confirm dimensions and end-link fit before buying a third-party replacement strap.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteHow the aviation connection should be understood
Watchonista places the watches in the context of Longines’ aviation history, referring to Charles Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart, the Hour Angle watch and the brand’s flyback chronographs. The report’s author, Mike Espindle, describes how “a flyback chronograph could be a more welcome visual backup in the cockpit.” That is Espindle’s editorial characterization, not a certification or proof that either watch is suitable flight equipment.
