Stars and constellations are laser-engraved on translucent blue quartz and filled with Super-LumiNova; around that display, the hand-wound watch combines a flying tourbillon, equation of time, moon phase, calendars and retrograde minutes. Its striking display comes in a large 46.30 mm Dimier Writing Desk case, while the published power-reserve figures conflict: Bovet’s page says both nine days and 10 days.
How the Astérium displays the night sky
The defining feature is a translucent blue quartz dome engraved with stars and constellations. Bovet says the engravings are filled with Super-LumiNova and positioned to represent the stars’ apparent height in the sky: stars higher above the horizon sit nearer the top of the dome, while those closer to the horizon appear around its periphery. The result is a three-dimensional sky map rather than a conventional flat watch dial.
Bovet describes the watch as a journey through the heavens. The display is intended to relate time to the position of the stars, while the movement underneath supplies the mechanical complications. The official product description is available on Bovet’s Récital 20 page.
What functions does it include?
The sky map is only one part of the display. Bovet lists the following indications and complications:

- Retrograde minutes: the minute hand travels along an arc and returns to its starting point.
- Equation of time: an indication of the difference between apparent solar time and mean clock time.
- Moon phase: a display of the lunar phase.

- Flying tourbillon: positioned at six o’clock.
- Power-reserve indicator: an indication of the movement’s remaining running time.
Bovet specifies an in-house, hand-finished, hand-wound manufacture movement with an in-house hairspring and regulating organ. The brand lists 771 components. That figure is Bovet’s own specification, not an independent count.
Power reserve: Bovet’s page gives two different figures
The official product page is internally inconsistent: its descriptive text says the movement runs for nine full days, while its specifications list 10 days, or 240 hours. INDP Watches also lists 10 days/240 hours. Since the manufacturer’s own page does not present one consistent figure, it is safest to treat the reserve duration as unresolved rather than choosing one number as definitive. Case size, shape and materials
Bovet calls the case the Dimier Writing Desk. Its official specifications give a diameter of 46.30 mm, a thickness of 18.30 mm and a 9-degree slope. The listed materials include 18K red gold, 18K white gold, platinum and two-tone variants. Bovet specifies a blue quartz dial with night-sky indications and a five-year warranty.
These are the options and measurements listed on the brand page; they do not establish that every material or configuration can currently be ordered. At 46.30 mm across and 18.30 mm thick, the case is a substantial presence, and its sloped, domed construction is central to the watch’s unusual presentation.

Award date and price context
INDP Watches says the Récital 20 Astérium received the Astronomy prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève ceremony on November 9, 2023. Bovet’s product page also describes the watch as award-winning, but labels the relevant section “GPHG 2024.” Because those dates do not match, the retailer’s dated account supports the 2023 ceremony date, while Bovet’s page leaves an inconsistency in the award chronology.
INDP’s listing identifies its example as piece unique and displays a price of 7,250,000 SEK. This is a changeable price shown by one retailer, not an official Bovet price or a market valuation; the listing does not by itself confirm current availability. Bovet’s product page gives an inquiry route rather than a retail price. Check with the brand or seller for current configuration, availability and terms before making a purchase decision.

Who is the Récital 20 Astérium for?
This is a specialist choice for someone drawn to astronomical displays and elaborate mechanical construction, not a straightforward everyday time-only watch. Its appeal is concentrated in the sculptural sky map, the combination of calendar and astronomical functions, and the flying tourbillon. The large, thick case and dense display are important practical trade-offs: buyers should consider how the dimensions and layered indications suit their wrist and how they expect to use the watch.
For comparison shopping, the most useful points to verify are the exact case material and configuration being offered, the reserve duration for that example, and whether it is actually available. The stated 771 components, dimensions and complication list come from Bovet; the displayed SEK price and piece-unique description come from INDP’s particular listing.
