The Breguet Réveil du Tsar 5707BA/12/9V6 puts several jobs on one dial: it shows the time, a second time zone, the alarm setting and the alarm’s remaining power. Separate guilloché patterns distinguish those areas, so the surface offers detail as well as information. The practical key is to read each display as its own indicator rather than treating the whole face as one conventional time dial.
What the dial shows
The 5707’s dial combines timekeeping, alarm and travel information. Breguet’s instruction manual identifies the watch as an automatic model with a self-winding alarm, alarm power-reserve indicator, two time zones and date. A review of the watch gives the positions of the auxiliary displays:

- At 3 o’clock: the alarm-time dial.
- At 9 o’clock: the second time zone, shown on a 24-hour display.
- Between 10 and 12 o’clock: the alarm power-reserve indicator.
- Near 12 o’clock: the alarm on/off indicator.
The 24-hour display is useful for distinguishing a.m. from p.m. as well as tracking another time zone. Breguet recommends synchronizing that hand with local time before setting the time; the manual’s wording is, “Before setting the watch, it is advisable to synchronise the 24-hour hand H24 with the hours of local time H12.” Breguet 5707 instruction manual

Why the dial keeps revealing detail
The decorative surface is divided into functional zones rather than relying on a single uniform finish. The Watch Observer review identifies seven guilloché finishes: clous de Paris, satiné circulaire, sauté piqué, pointes de diamant, vieux panier, décor flammé and grain d’orge circulaire. It also notes the secret signatures at 4 and 8 o’clock, along with a silvered-gold dial and blued Breguet-style hands. The Watch Observer review

Those textures reward close inspection, but they also give the different information areas visual separation. A forum owner described noticing details over time and offered a personal view of the dial’s legibility; that is an individual impression, not a general finding about how easily everyone can read the watch. How to wind and set the alarm
The manual says crown I in position 1 is used to wind the movement and alarm manually. It specifies about 55 crown turns for a manual wind. When worn, the watch automatically rewinds both; fully wound, it runs for about 45 hours off the wrist before stopping. The review describes setting the alarm with the crown at 4 o’clock and activating it with a pushpiece at 8 o’clock. The alarm reserve display indicates the energy available for the alarm, while the separate indicator shows whether it is switched on.
