Breguet currently lists two versions: platinum (5377PT/12/9WU) and 18K rose gold (5377BR/12/9WU). Its official pages do not publish a current price; buyers must contact a point of sale. The available hands-on photographs and observations are from Monochrome Watches’ article published on 18 December 2014, not a new inspection of a current watch.
What the Breguet 5377 is
The Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat 5377 is an automatic, dress-oriented tourbillon with a silvery hand-guilloché dial, Breguet hollow-apple steel hands, an off-centred tourbillon and a power-reserve indication. Breguet calls it the brand’s slimmest automatic tourbillon movement. The watch measures 41 mm across and 7.1 mm thick, an unusually slender profile for a watch with an automatic tourbillon.
The “hands-on” visual record available here is Monochrome Watches’ 18 December 2014 article, whose photographs are its live photos. Monochrome described the case as fluted, the dial as engine-turned, the lugs as soldered and the hands as open-tipped and blued. These are observations from that dated coverage; they should not be read as a fresh examination of current stock.

Breguet lists the same core movement and case dimensions for both versions. The principal documented distinction is metal: platinum for the PT reference and 18K rose gold for the BR reference. Both are fitted with an alligator strap.

Calibre 581 DR and its thin construction
Breguet lists the calibre 581 DR as 3 mm thick, with 369 components, a 4 Hz frequency and an 80-hour power reserve. The official product description attributes the design’s thinness and stated reserve to a set of specific choices:
- The tourbillon is positioned off-centre and uses a lightweight titanium cage carrying a Breguet balance with a flat silicon balance spring.
- A specially created escapement is described by Breguet as enabling the 4 Hz operating frequency.
- Breguet says its patented high-energy barrel provides the 80-hour reserve.
- A peripheral platinum oscillating weight winds the automatic movement while allowing the 3 mm calibre to fit within the 7.1 mm case.
These are the manufacturer’s explanations of the movement architecture and performance specifications, rather than independently measured results. Monochrome’s 2014 coverage also discussed the titanium cage, silicon spring, 4 Hz rate and high-energy barrel.

Price and what buyers should confirm
Breguet’s current official product pages do not give a numeric recommended retail price for either reference; they direct prospective buyers to contact a point of sale. Hodinkee reported an approximate CHF 160,000 price for the platinum version in launch-era coverage. That is historical reporting, not a current MSRP or a present-day conversion.
Because the current pages do not establish dealer stock, availability, warranty terms or service arrangements, confirm those details with the seller when requesting a quote. A quote for one metal should not be assumed to apply to the other.

Winding a stopped 5377
Breguet’s manual for the 5377 instructs the owner to wind a stopped watch manually by turning the crown upward 20 to 30 times before other operation. The manual says an unworn, fully wound watch will stop after about 80 hours. Follow the manual for the referenced watch; it is not a substitute for current service advice.
