The Breguet Classique Tourbillon Sidéral 7255 is a 50-piece limited edition announced on June 26, 2025, as the fourth chapter of Breguet’s 250th-anniversary celebrations. Its defining feature is a flying tourbillon designed to appear unsupported: Breguet says anti-reflective sapphire components disappear from view while the gear-to-cage connection is concealed beneath the dial. What makes the Breguet Classique Tourbillon Sidéral 7255 different?
The 7255 is not simply a dress watch with a tourbillon visible through an aperture. Its visual premise is to make the rotating cage seem to float in the dial. Breguet describes the 7255 as its first flying tourbillon and says the support structure is made to vanish rather than draw attention to itself. The launch announcement also links the watch’s unveiling date, June 26, 2025, to Abraham-Louis Breguet’s tourbillon patent of June 26, 1801. That anniversary connection is Breguet’s framing of the release.
The dial adds a second point of distinction. Breguet describes it as deep-blue aventurine enamel, made using Grand Feu enamel on a white-gold base and containing copper inclusions. The company presents this combination as a first for the manufacture. The sparkle of the inclusions gives the blue surface a star-like character consistent with the Sidéral name.
Case and dial details
The official launch description also specifies Quai de l’Horloge guilloché on the movement plate and elsewhere, secret signatures, a finely fluted case middle, straight lugs and Breguet hollowed-apple hands. The case is offered in 18K Breguet gold or platinum. In its release, Breguet says its proprietary gold alloy contains 75% gold, enriched with silver, copper and palladium.

How does the 7255’s mysterious tourbillon work?
Breguet explains the “mysterious” effect as imparting movement to an organ without a visible link to the rest of the movement. For the 7255, the company says the lower bridge and the support of the tourbillon carriage are made of anti-reflective sapphire glass. Because those parts are intended to be visually invisible, the carriage appears to rotate without a conventional visible support.
The apparent isolation is an optical effect, not an absence of mechanical connection. According to Breguet, the contact point between the gears and the carriage is offset from the visible aperture and hidden beneath the dial. The official explanation describes the construction; it is not an independent teardown or verification.
How many Breguet 7255 watches were made?
Breguet says the 7255 is limited to 50 watches. The 20 mm lug width is useful when checking strap compatibility, but width alone does not establish fit. Taper, strap length, stitching and the attachment needed for the clasp should also be checked before ordering a replacement.
