The Breguet Type XX 2067 and the green titanium Blancpain Air Command are both 5 Hz automatic flyback chronographs, but they make different choices in case material, dial layout and historical framing. The Breguet offers a 60-hour stated power reserve and a date; the Blancpain is titanium, has a 50-hour reserve and comes in two clasp configurations. Neither is an objective winner: the better fit depends on which details matter most to you.
At a glance: the compared references
This comparison concerns the Breguet Type XX Chronographe 2067 reference 2067ST/92/3WU and Blancpain Air Command references AC02 12B53 63A and 63B. Blancpain also lists smaller green titanium Air Command models in the AC03 family, but those are not the watches compared here.

Case size and material: close in diameter, different in metal
Breguet lists the 2067 at 42 mm across and 14.1 mm thick. Blancpain gives the Air Command a 42.5 mm diameter and titanium case. The half-millimetre diameter difference is small on paper, but the available specifications do not establish how either watch will sit on a particular wrist. Try the exact model on if fit is a deciding factor.

- Strap Material: Crafted from premium full-grain leather, the surface features a specially treated worn effect for a vintage look. The inner side in contact with the wrist is lined with comfortable artificial suede. Paired with classic color-block stitching and a sturdy stainless steel buckle, these straps strike the perfect balance between durability and style. Suitable for various occasions, they are ideal for both casual and formal wear.
- Size Selection: Before purchasing, please confirm the strap size compatible with your watch. The distance between the lugs where the strap connects to the watch case determines the strap width. The strap will only fit your watch if its width matches the lug width of your watch.

The practical distinction the specifications do establish is steel versus titanium. Choose based on material preference and the watch’s overall look rather than assuming a particular difference in perceived weight or comfort: the cited material does not provide a wrist-wear test.
Movement and power reserve
Both brands specify automatic movements running at 5 Hz and a flyback chronograph function. Breguet’s calibre 728 is listed with a 60-hour reserve; Blancpain’s F388B is listed with 50 hours. That gives the Breguet a stated 10-hour advantage between windings under the manufacturers’ specifications. It does not establish better accuracy, durability or service needs in everyday use.

Dial layout and chronograph readability
Breguet: a three-register display plus date
Breguet places the 15-minute counter at 3 o’clock, the 12-hour totalizer at 6 and running seconds at 9. The date sits between 4 and 5. This makes the elapsed-minutes counter and longer-duration totalizer explicit parts of the display, while adding a calendar indication. In the Fratello comparison, the writers describe the date position as visually disruptive; that is an editorial judgment, not a manufacturer specification.
Blancpain: green sunburst and a different presentation
The Air Command references in this comparison have a green sunburst dial and a different subdial presentation from the Breguet. If you prefer the green dial’s color and visual character, that may carry more weight than the Type XX’s clearly specified 15-minute and 12-hour layout. The cited product pages do not supply a directly comparable detailed counter description, so a buyer who prioritizes exact register functions should verify the dial and operating instructions for the reference in question.

Strap and clasp choices
Breguet lists the 2067 with both calfskin and NATO fabric straps. Blancpain lists a calfskin strap for the green titanium Air Command, with the two compared references distinguished by fastening: the 63A uses a pin buckle, while the 63B uses a folding clasp. Blancpain’s US pages show different prices for those configurations, so confirm which reference and clasp are included in any quote.

Blancpain’s US product pages displayed $25,900 for the AC02 12B53 63A and $26,600 for the AC02 12B53 63B when accessed in 2026. Blancpain notes that price may vary depending on strap fastening. These are page-displayed US figures, not a guaranteed current quote or a price for another market. The cited Breguet page does not establish a current retail price in a defined market, so a reliable price comparison requires a fresh, like-for-like quote.

- Breguet caliber 777A
- Approximate power reserve of 55 hours.
Heritage: two aviation stories, not a performance comparison
Breguet presents the civilian 2067 as a descendant of civilian Type XX watches from the 1950s and 1960s, including a 1957 model numbered 2988. It is distinct from the military-inspired Type 20 Chronographe 2057. Blancpain describes the Air Command as a modern tribute to aviation heritage and references a 1956 predecessor. These are each brand’s historical framings; they do not show that one watch performs better.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Breguet if you want the stated 60-hour reserve, the 42 mm steel case, a date, and a dial with specified 15-minute and 12-hour chronograph counters. Its two-strap set also gives you both calfskin and NATO options as listed by Breguet.
- Choose the Blancpain if you prefer a 42.5 mm titanium case, the green sunburst dial, or the choice between pin-buckle and folding-clasp versions. Its published reserve is 50 hours.
- Compare before buying if wrist fit, exact chronograph display, or price is decisive. The cited sources do not establish head-to-head accuracy, reliability, durability, lume performance, service cost, resale value or a controlled wear comparison.
For official specifications, see Breguet’s Type XX page, Blancpain’s 63A US product page and Blancpain’s 63B US product page. The design comparison and date-placement opinion are discussed by Fratello Watches (October 20, 2024).
