How the Cosmonaute differs in purpose
The defining Cosmonaute feature is its 24-hour time display, rather than the conventional 12-hour reading. The model combines that format with the Navitimer’s slide-rule bezel and chronograph functions. Breitling’s product page says the Cosmonaute was worn by Scott Carpenter on the Mercury-Atlas 7 flight on May 24, 1962, and describes it as the first Swiss wristwatch in space. Those historical claims are Breitling’s account.
Price and availability
Breitling’s Germany-locale product page listed the watch at EUR 26,500 including VAT, while its US limited-edition listing showed USD 25,000.
