The Breitling Navitimer Ref. 806 1959 Re-Edition, reference AB0910371B1X1, pairs a design intended to echo the 1959 original with clearly specified modern components: a hand-wound B09 movement, a 41 mm steel case, Super-LumiNova and 3 bar water resistance. Breitling says it made 1,959 individually numbered examples. The published specifications are useful for assessing the watch, but they are not a substitute for independent wear or performance testing.
What the 1959 Re-Edition is
This is the stainless-steel Navitimer Ref. 806 1959 Re-Edition, not a general description of every Navitimer or of the precious-metal 1959 variants. Breitling identifies the reference as AB0910371B1X1 and states that production is limited to 1,959 individually numbered watches. The company presents the design as closely matching its 1959 inspiration; that is the manufacturer’s characterization, not an independent historical comparison.
Design and case dimensions
The black dial has tone-on-tone chronograph counters, a small-seconds counter, a capital-letter Breitling inscription and an unsigned winged logo. A bidirectional bezel carries the slide rule, while the highly domed crystal is Plexiglas. Breitling says the case dimensions match the 1959 inspiration.

The 3 bar rating is the stated specification, not a promise of suitability for swimming or diving. Plexiglas and a leather strap are also part of the practical ownership picture; Breitling’s product page does not establish independent durability or service-interval findings.

Movement and chronograph
The watch uses Breitling Manufacture Caliber B09, a mechanical hand-wound movement with 34 jewels and a stated frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Breitling gives an approximate 70-hour power reserve and describes the caliber as COSC-certified, based on Caliber 01, and developed for historical re-editions.
The chronograph measures 1/5-second increments and has 30-minute and 12-hour counters; a separate small-seconds counter is also shown on the dial. The reserve is an approximate manufacturer specification, not a measured result for an individual watch.

What is vintage-inspired—and what is modern
Breitling describes the re-edition as closely following the 1959 design, while identifying two modern concessions: water resistance increased to 3 bar (30 m) and Super-LumiNova colored to align with the aged appearance of earlier luminous material. The company’s description does not establish a broader independent assessment of historical accuracy.
For someone considering it as a regularly worn watch, these details matter more than the vintage cues alone: it requires manual winding, has a Plexiglas crystal, comes on leather, and carries a modest water-resistance rating. The official specifications do not include independent timing results, wrist-fit observations or water testing.

Price and warranty
When accessed on October 8, 2026, Breitling’s UK product page displayed a price of GBP 7,600 including VAT. That is a UK listing observed on that date, not a universal or guaranteed current price. Breitling states that the watch has a five-year international warranty, extendable by up to three years through online registration. The supplied strap uses 22 mm lugs and an 18 mm buckle, so it tapers. A replacement specified only as 22 mm at the lugs may not match the original taper or buckle fit; confirm both widths and the construction before ordering. The manufacturer page does not verify the fit of any third-party strap.
