The Breitling Superocean Heritage B20 Automatic 42 Amsterdam LE is a 75-piece commemorative watch reported to mark Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary. Its red sunburst dial, pink-gold bezel with a black ceramic insert, and engraved canal scene distinguish it from the standard Superocean Heritage B20 Automatic 42. The edition-specific details and historical prices below come from Fratello Watches’ report published February 3, 2025; current stock and prices have not been verified.
What makes the Amsterdam edition different?
Fratello Watches describes a stainless-steel case paired with a red sunburst dial and a pink-gold unidirectional bezel. A black ceramic insert provides the bezel’s contrasting scale, including pink-gold five-minute markers. The screw-in case back is engraved with a view of Amsterdam’s canals.
The report identifies the watch as a 75-piece edition commemorating Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary. Those edition-specific features—not simply a different strap—set it apart from the standard B20 42.

How large is it, and what is inside?
Fratello reports a 42 mm diameter, 51.58 mm lug-to-lug length and 14.35 mm thickness. The 51.58 mm span is worth considering alongside the 42 mm diameter: lug-to-lug length can be a useful fit check, particularly for buyers whose wrists are short across the top.
The edition is powered by Breitling’s automatic B20, which the report says is based on Tudor caliber MT5612 and has a 70-hour power reserve. Breitling’s official product page for the separate standard reference AB2010161C1A1 describes the B20 as self-winding, based on MT5612, and offering approximately 70 hours of reserve. That official reference is a platform comparison, not confirmation of the Amsterdam edition’s reference.

The edition figures in this comparison are from Fratello’s edition report; standard-reference specifications are from Breitling’s page for AB2010161C1A1. Breitling’s page lists 200 m water resistance and a five-year international warranty for that standard reference; it should not be treated as an edition-specific warranty statement.
Which strap options were reported?
Fratello reports two configurations: a black mesh-style rubber strap and a stainless-steel mesh bracelet, both with folding clasps. The article also says the three Amsterdam crosses could be engraved on the clasp. That is a release-era option reported in 2025, not confirmation that the service remains available.

If considering a replacement strap, treat the reported 22/20 mm dimension as a starting point rather than a fit guarantee. Confirm the watch’s lug width, clasp or buckle compatibility, and the exact edition with the seller or a qualified watchmaker before ordering.

In its February 3, 2025 article, Fratello reported launch prices of €6,950 on the rubber strap and €7,500 on the steel bracelet. These are historical release-era figures, not current retail quotes or resale valuations. The report also said roughly 50 of the 75 watches were already gone when it was written; that dated observation does not establish today’s remaining stock.

No current official, retailer or resale availability is established here. For a present-day purchase, ask the seller to confirm the exact Amsterdam edition, configuration, condition and provenance, and compare the asking price against current documented listings rather than relying on the 2025 launch prices. Breitling’s listed €6,050 price for reference AB2010161C1A1 belongs to a different standard B20 42 and is not an Amsterdam-edition price.

What to check before buying
- Edition identity: Confirm that the watch is the Amsterdam commemorative edition, not a standard-color B20 42 or a listing using edition photos for a different reference.
- Condition and provenance: Request clear images of the dial, bezel, case back and clasp, along with documentation that supports the seller’s description.
- Included configuration: Verify whether the offer includes the mesh-style rubber strap, steel mesh bracelet, or both, and check clasp condition and fit.
- Price evidence: Use current, comparable offers for the same edition and condition; the reported launch prices are historical context only.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
