The Bremont Terra Nova Jumping Hour replaces conventional hour and minute hands with two dial windows: one for the hour and one for the minutes. In the current 38mm steel bracelet model, a central seconds display completes the layout. It is a mechanical watch, not a digital one, and its jumping-hour display is an unexpected complication for Bremont’s field-watch-shaped Terra Nova line.
What is a jumping-hour watch?
A jumping-hour watch displays the hour in an aperture rather than with a conventional hour hand. On the Terra Nova, the hour appears at 12 o’clock and changes discretely as the watch advances to the next hour; the minute indication moves through a separate window at 6 o’clock. The 38mm steel model also has a central running-seconds display.
Bremont calls this layout “montre à guichet.” The company says the hour disc makes its instantaneous jump in under a tenth of a second. In Bremont’s product copy: “Powered by the exclusive BC634 Jumping Hour calibre, developed in partnership with Sellita, the watch delivers a sharp, instantaneous jump of the hour disc in under a tenth of a second.” That timing is the manufacturer’s claim, not an independently measured result.
What makes it an unexpected Terra Nova?
The Terra Nova has a field-watch shape, while a jumping-hour display is a less conventional way to show time than the familiar pair of hands. That contrast gives the watch its character: a distinct mechanical display within a collection Bremont presents as inspired by trench watches. The trench-watch inspiration is Bremont’s framing; the contrast between the case style and the display is an interpretation of the design.

Bremont’s US product listing showed the 38mm steel bracelet model at $5,100 and marked it in stock when the page was checked in 2026. Price and stock can change; check the current 38mm steel bracelet listing for the latest information.

Bremont’s US collection page lists several sizes, finishes and strap configurations with their own displayed prices. These are changing listings, not confirmation that a given watch is in stock. The prices below are those shown on the page when checked in 2026.

Aventurine edition
In a report dated December 1, 2025, Fratello described an Aventurine edition with a frosted 904L case, aventurine dial and a 50-piece limited run. The publication listed its price at €10,750 / US$10,300 / £8,950 and reported 10 ATM / 100 metres water resistance. These are dated, variant-specific figures from Fratello’s Aventurine edition report, not specifications for the 38mm steel model or confirmation of present availability.
2026 collection expansion
Wallpaper* reported that five new pieces were shown for Geneva Watch Days 2026, including the collection’s first 35mm case and burgundy versions, retaining the BC634 calibre. Who should consider it?
The jumping-hour display is the main reason to choose this Terra Nova over a conventional field-style watch. Before deciding on a configuration, compare the case diameter and dimensions, dial finish, bracelet or leather strap, water-resistance rating and current price for the exact variant. If you want the specific 38mm model, its published 30-metre rating is a modest specification; the higher rating reported for the distinct Aventurine edition should not be transferred to it.
