The Bremont Terra Nova Jumping Hour is a 38mm mechanical watch that displays the hour and minute through apertures instead of conventional hands. Bremont offers it in 904L stainless steel and in Stealth Black, with strap and bracelet configurations that vary by reference. The key differences are the finish, attachment, and listed price—not the basic jumping-hour idea.
How the jumping-hour display works
The hour appears in a window at 12 o’clock, the minutes in a window at 6, and a central small-seconds display keeps running. Bremont describes the steel model as a closed-case design, with three individual sapphire crystals covering the apertures.
Rather than moving gradually like a conventional hour hand, the hour disc advances in a single jump. Bremont says the change takes less than one tenth of a second. The manufacturer identifies the movement as BC634AH on the steel specification page and describes the BC634 calibre as developed in partnership with Sellita. Steel and Stealth Black configurations
The collection is not a single watch-and-strap combination. Bremont lists leather and bracelet versions, so compare the exact reference rather than assuming the material or price applies to every model.

Case size, fit, and water resistance
For the cited steel reference, Bremont specifies a cushion-shaped 904L steel case measuring 38mm across, 44mm long, and 9.1mm deep, with a 20mm lug width. Its stated water resistance is 3 ATM / 30 metres. These figures are specific to the steel reference’s published specification and should not be assumed for every variant. The water-resistance rating describes the manufacturer’s specification; it is not a recommendation for swimming or diving.

The 38mm diameter and relatively slim 9.1mm depth give a useful starting point for judging wear, but the 44mm case length and cushion shape also affect how it sits across a wrist. If you are considering an alternate strap, 20mm is the listed lug width for this steel model, not a universal compatibility guarantee: attachment geometry and the exact reference still matter.

Bremont says the Terra Nova design draws inspiration from early twentieth-century trench watches. The window-based display gives the Jumping Hour a distinctly different read from a standard three-hand dial, while the small seconds remains visible at the center. In its 12 February 2026 coverage, T3 noted that the Stealth Black’s Bund pad can be removed, exposing the plain leather strap underneath.
