The Bulgari Octo Finissimo Laurent Grasso Special Edition is reference 104005, a 40 mm blue-PVD titanium watch limited to 200 pieces worldwide. Its defining feature is a seven-pass dial illustration of iridescent clouds, while inside it uses Bulgari’s automatic BVL 138 microrotor movement, specified at just 2.23 mm thick.
What makes reference 104005 distinctive?
This special edition combines the Octo Finissimo’s angular titanium design with a dial created around Laurent Grasso’s cloud imagery. Bulgari describes the dial as brass decorated with a seven-pass serigraphy using metallic pigments. The layered treatment is intended to evoke the changing colors and diffraction of light associated with iridescent clouds.
The collaboration brought Grasso together with Bulgari watch-design executive Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani. In Bulgari Japan’s release, Grasso describes exploring how to recreate the phenomenon on the dial through dialogue with Buonamassa Stigliani. The edition’s cloud theme also appears on the transparent personalized caseback, which the Japanese release describes as bearing a cloud and Grasso’s signature.

How the watch interprets Grasso’s cloud idea
The dial is the edition’s main point of difference from a standard Octo Finissimo: rather than a conventional uniform surface, it uses a layered printed image to suggest light refracted through suspended particles and frozen droplets. The metallic pigments and multiple printing passes are the stated means of rendering that shifting, iridescent effect. Bulgari-branded coverage also frames the collaboration as an exploration of time as a space shaped by a metaphysical idea, rather than only a measurement: Luxferity’s Bulgari-branded story.

What to consider when comparing it with another Octo Finissimo
