What makes these three watches a chiming-watch trio?
The Foundation Haute Horlogerie (FHH) identifies all three models in its account of the Octo Roma Grande Sonnerie Tourbillon: the Grande Sonnerie, the Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon, and the Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater Carbon. Bulgari describes Octo as combining Italian design with Swiss-made precision, and says the case design echoes Rome’s eight-sided architectural geometry. That is the brand’s characterization of the collection, rather than an independent technical assessment. Bulgari’s Octo collection overview provides its own framing.
For the 2024 chiming watches, Bulgari enlisted Italian-Swiss conductor Lorenzo Viotti, whom FHH identifies as chief conductor of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. FHH and production partner Converge Productions describe his collaboration with Bulgari’s master watchmakers on the watches’ sound. FHH’s model profile and Converge Productions’ project account describe that work; neither supplies a verified verbatim quote from Viotti.
How the two Octo Roma chiming watches compare
Both Roma models strike hours, quarters, and minutes, but their reported operation and specifications differ. Time and Watches’ 29 August 2024 report gives the following comparison:

The FHH profile also lists 754 components, a 72-hour reserve, a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, and a five-piece edition for the Grande Sonnerie. Its description conflicts on case material: the prose says platinum, while its specification table says titanium. FHH’s profile and Time and Watches both support reporting the discrepancy rather than presenting the case material as settled.

Which Octo Roma model suits which interest?
- Choose the Grande Sonnerie as the point of interest if you want the reported automatic striking of hours and quarters, alongside on-demand repetition of hours, quarters, and minutes. Its five-piece edition and tourbillon distinguish it in this trio, though the case-material conflict should be resolved with authoritative Bulgari documentation before treating either metal as definitive.
- Look to the Carillon if the three-note quarter strikes and rose-gold case are the details that matter most to you. Its reported 30-piece edition is larger than the Grande Sonnerie’s five-piece run, but still limited.
- Consider the Finissimo as a separate line within the trio if its identity as a minute repeater is the relevant distinction; specifications available in these sources are too limited for a technical comparison.
