Bulova describes the 96A344 movement as an eight-jewel, 262 kHz Precisionist quartz mechanism with increased temperature resistance and a sweeping seconds hand. Bulova also describes the 98A336 as having a Precisionist movement. The frequency and sweeping-seconds description are brand specifications, not independent accuracy measurements of these watches.
How should you interpret the water rating?
The 96A344 product page uses the exact wording “Splash Resistant.” Treat that as limited everyday splash protection, not as a swimming or diving rating. Check with Bulova for guidance on the specific reference before exposing it to water. The surfaced 98A336 information does not establish its water rating, so don’t infer one from the Magnesite model or from another Super Seville.

Other references illustrate why it matters to check the exact model. Bulova lists the larger 98B458 at 37.5 mm, while Bulova Italy lists the 96B444 at 38 mm and 3 bar water resistance. Those specifications belong to those references, not to either 35 mm watch: 98B458 and 96B444.

Is the Super Seville comparable to the Tissot PRX?
There is a useful broad resemblance in the integrated-bracelet format, but the available specifications do not establish that the 35 mm Super Seville and a PRX are equivalent watches. Compare the exact references you are considering: case size and shape, dial, movement, water rating, and current price. In particular, do not assume the Super Seville’s water performance or movement characteristics from its styling or from a larger family member.

Bulova says the design draws inspiration from its 1970s Super Seville Day-Date. The current 35 mm listings pair that retro reference with the brand’s Precisionist quartz movement. The two options take different approaches to the dial: veined white stone on the 96A344 and green jade on the 98A336.

- Price and stock: These can change. Bulova’s indexed 96A344 page showed an $895 list price and a $716 promotion; those are time-sensitive listing figures, not a guaranteed current price. Check the live listing.
- Water use: Confirm the rating for the exact reference and market. The 96A344’s “Splash Resistant” wording is not a swimming recommendation.
- Warranty: Check the warranty supplied with the watch in your market. A generic Bulova manual describes a limited three-year warranty, but that document is not specific to these 35 mm product pages.
