The 2021 Pasha de Cartier Chronograph brought a 41 mm chronograph to the Pasha collection, powered by Cartier’s automatic 1904-CH MC caliber. Launch coverage described stainless-steel reference WSPA0018 and 18-karat yellow-gold reference WGPA0017, with different strap and bracelet arrangements. Here are the launch-era details, the official start-stop-reset sequence, and a key distinction from later 41 mm Pasha chronographs.
What was introduced in 2021?
Cartier announced a 41 mm Pasha chronograph in 2021, with a rotating graduated bezel, sapphire crystal and two pushers detailed with cabochons. Cartier identifies the movement as the automatic 1904-CH MC caliber in its July 2021 collection announcement. The more detailed launch configuration and release timing below come from Hodinkee’s April 7, 2021 report, which said the watches would be available from July 2021.

Hodinkee reported a 41 mm diameter and 11.97 mm case thickness for the launch models. Strap and bracelet descriptions are launch coverage, not a guarantee that every watch now offered secondhand includes all those components. The prices are historical U.S. launch figures—not current retail prices or estimates of secondary-market value.
What are the movement and main specifications?
Both launch versions used the automatic 1904-CH MC caliber. Hodinkee’s 2021 report lists hours, minutes, seconds and date, a 47-hour power reserve, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 37 jewels, a movement thickness of 5.715 mm and a diameter of 11 1/2 lignes. These are launch-era specifications, not the specifications of every later Pasha chronograph.

How do you use the Pasha chronograph?
Cartier’s WSPA0018 user guide gives this sequence for operating the chronograph:
- Press the pusher at 2 o’clock to start timing.
- Press the same pusher again to stop the chronograph.
- Read elapsed time from the chronograph seconds hand and minute counter.
- With the chronograph stopped, press the pusher at 4 o’clock to reset the counters to zero.
The guide specifies that the counters can be reset only when the chronograph is stopped.

How is the 2021 watch different from later 41 mm versions?
A 41 mm case alone does not identify the 2021 model. Cartier Saudi Arabia’s page for reference WSPA0046 describes a distinct later Pasha chronograph with a green dial, 1904-CH3 MC caliber, 12 mm case and 10 bar water resistance. Those details belong to WSPA0046; they should not be attributed to the 2021 WSPA0018. The WSPA0046 page also does not establish current stock of WSPA0018.
When identifying a specific watch, check the reference number and its accompanying documentation rather than relying only on case size or the Pasha name.
