Its strongest appeal is the specific collaboration design; its practical case is a useful set of everyday timing functions. Casio lists it as an “Old Model,” so availability, price, and seller terms depend on the retailer.
What makes the Type R edition distinctive?
Casio builds the collaboration around Honda’s Championship White rather than relying on a logo alone. The dial ring uses the paint color, a red “H” badge sits at the dial center, and the dial has a honeycomb motif. The white leather strap carries Type R vehicle model codes, with Alcantara on the underside and red stitching. Type R marks also appear on the band loop and case back; the deployment buckle bears a Honda logo, and the stopwatch button has an “R” mark.

The printed codes span Honda Type R models from the NSX NA1 to the current Civic FL5, giving the watch a concrete enthusiast detail. Casio describes the case as carbon fiber-reinforced resin, while its specification table summarizes the case and bezel material as carbon/stainless steel. It is not accurately described as an entirely carbon watch.
Casio presents this as a collaboration model, not a numbered limited edition. Its international product page labels the model “Old Model”; that label does not establish a production quantity or current retailer stock. The Japanese regional listing uses the suffix ECB-2200HTR-1AJR and is marked discontinued.

Power and smartphone link
Tough Solar is designed to charge the watch from light. Casio estimates approximately seven months of operation after a full charge without further solar charging, or approximately 18 months if the fully charged watch is stored in darkness with power saving enabled. These are manufacturer estimates, not independent measurements; actual charging and operation depend on light exposure and use.
Bluetooth connects the watch to the CASIO WATCHES app. Casio lists automatic time adjustment, settings, world time, stopwatch-data transfer, Time & Place, and phone finder among the linked functions. Check current app and device requirements before relying on the connection; continued software support is not established here.
Timekeeping and illumination
The analog-digital display is paired with a hand-shift feature, which moves the hands out of the way of the digital display. Casio lists world time for 38 time zones (38 cities plus UTC), a stopwatch that measures to 1/100 second during the first 60 minutes, a 60-minute countdown timer, and five daily alarms. It also specifies double LED illumination and Neobrite. The stated accuracy is ±15 seconds per month without mobile link; that is a specification, not a measurement from this review.

Crystal and water resistance
The crystal is sapphire with an anti-reflective coating, which Casio describes as scratch-resistant and highly transparent. Those material and coating claims do not establish how well this particular watch resists scratches or glare in use; neither was independently tested for this review.
Casio specifies water resistance to 100 meters (10 bar). Treat that as a rating, not a guarantee for every water activity: consult the watch manual for activity-specific limits and care guidance.
Will the size and strap work for you?
Casio lists dimensions of 47.6 × 48.2 × 11.9 mm, a weight of 68 g, and a compatible band size of 175–215 mm. The face footprint is substantial, so the measurements may be a concern for smaller wrists, but dimensions alone cannot establish comfort or fit. Compare them with a watch you already wear or try this one on before buying.

The white leather strap, Alcantara underside, red stitching, and printed Type R codes are central to the design rather than generic strap styling. Replacement-band fit and genuine replacement-part availability have not been established here, so do not assume an arbitrary strap will fit.

It makes the most sense for someone who specifically wants Honda Type R references in a functional Edifice, rather than a watch chosen solely for restrained styling. Its published specification combines solar charging, Bluetooth features, sapphire crystal, a 100-meter rating, and practical timers and alarms. The tradeoffs to weigh are the prominent case dimensions, the distinctive white strap, and uncertainty about current availability.

Casio’s international page calls the model old, and current retailer inventory and seller authenticity are not established here. Casio’s official product description says: “The timepiece delivers practicality, too, with Smartphone Link via Bluetooth®, Tough Solar charging system, high-brightness LED light, and scratch-resistant, highly transparent sapphire crystal.” That is Casio’s description, not an independent performance assessment.
