The Casio EDIFICE TOM’S 50th Anniversary Edition is a solar-powered motorsport chronograph inspired by TOM’S KP47 Starlet race car. Casio’s international listing identifies it as the EFS-S641TMS-1A; the company’s announcement and US page use EFS-S641TMS. Its appeal is specific: a racing-team tribute design paired with a date, stopwatch, battery indicator and 100-meter water resistance. The published specifications are useful for judging the watch, but they are not a substitute for trying its 50.1 mm-long case on your wrist.
What is the TOM’S 50th Anniversary Edition?
Casio and Japanese racing team TOM’S introduced this EDIFICE collaboration to mark TOM’S 50th anniversary. TOM’S was established in 1974, and Casio says EDIFICE has been an official partner since 2013. The model is called EFS-S641TMS in Casio’s announcement and US product page, and EFS-S641TMS-1A on its international product listing. Casio’s announcement and international model page provide the manufacturer’s descriptions and specifications.
The design refers to the KP47 Starlet, a car Casio credits with helping bring TOM’S recognition through its 1970s racing victories. Casio attributes 22 pole positions, 20 wins and three series champion victories to the KP47 Starlet era; those are the figures in the company’s historical account, not independently audited racing records. Casio’s US product page also presents the model as a limited-edition collaboration.
How the car appears in the watch
The red, white and green palette draws on the race car’s body colors. Casio says the dial shape evokes the car’s front grille and cylinder-head cover, while the inset dials take inspiration from its Igeta wheels. The band loops refer to the body colors and mirror supports. These are Casio’s explanations of the design rather than details independently verified by inspection.

The international listing adds a glass-printed “36,” referring to TOM’S ace-car number, and describes an original leather band with an earlier TOM’S logo. Casio also specifies special packaging in the same white, red and green colors. Together, those details make this a commemorative piece first: the strongest reason to choose it is likely an interest in TOM’S, the KP47 or the design itself, rather than a need for an unusually feature-rich chronograph.

What the dimensions mean for fit
At 50.1 mm from top to bottom and 44.5 mm across, the stated case dimensions make wrist fit an important consideration. The approximate 56 g weight is relatively concrete on paper, but neither it nor the case measurements establish how the watch will feel or sit on a particular wrist. Check the measurements against a watch you already own or try the EFS-S641TMS-1A in person if possible; no hands-on fit assessment is available here.
Is it worth buying?
That depends chiefly on whether the TOM’S tribute works for you and what the exact watch costs where you live. The solar charging system and straightforward chronograph functions support everyday use, while the car-inspired colors, wheel references and “36” mark out the special edition. The case dimensions may be a drawback for someone seeking a compact watch, and the stopwatch’s 29-minute, 59-second capacity is worth noting if you need longer timing.

Casio Japan announced an August 9, 2024 release with a suggested retail price of ¥44,000 including tax. That is historical Japanese launch pricing, not a current price or a global price. Casio’s international page now labels the model “Old Model,” while a regional Casio online flagship page has a product listing; neither confirms current stock in your market. Check the seller, exact model suffix, region, price and return terms before buying. Casio Japan’s release documents the launch date and price; the regional product page is a listing, not proof of availability everywhere.
