The GWF-A1000XC-1A changes the Frogman’s exterior materials, not its dive rating: Casio lists a resin case, a layered carbon-fiber bezel, and a carbon-fiber/resin composite band. It retains the family’s ISO 200-meter water-resistance rating and core solar, Bluetooth, and radio timekeeping features. Despite the original title’s “hands-on” wording, the specifications below are manufacturer-listed; they do not establish independent wear or dive testing.
Which parts are carbon fiber?
Casio does not list the GWF-A1000XC-1A as having a carbon-fiber case. Its international product page specifies a resin case, a carbon-fiber bezel, and a carbon-fiber/resin composite band. The watch also uses Carbon Core Guard construction. Casio’s international product page identifies the model as an old model.
The Japanese listing adds detail about the bezel: it describes laminated carbon with a single orange layer. It also describes carbon-fiber-reinforced resin in the watch’s structure. The composite band has a clasp with an extender intended to fit over a wetsuit. These materials distinguish the XC variant’s exterior; they are not evidence that it outperforms other Frogman models underwater.
How the XC differs from the GWF-A1000-1A
Casio’s international listings show the most direct differences in the band, listed weight, and bezel material. The base GWF-A1000-1A has a resin band and weighs 119 g; the XC has a carbon-fiber/resin composite band and weighs 140 g. Both are listed with ISO 200-meter water resistance, Tough Solar, Bluetooth, and Multi Band 6 radio-controlled time adjustment.

Why the official dimensions differ by market
Casio’s international page for the GWF-A1000XC-1A gives a width of 51.7 mm. The Japanese page for the GWF-A1000XC-1AJF instead lists 53.3 mm width. Casio Japan lists the GWF-A1000XC-1AJF as released in May 2021, with a Japanese suggested retail price of ¥187,000 including tax. That is historical Japan launch pricing, not a current price or an estimate of what the watch sells for today. Casio marks the international GWF-A1000XC-1A page as an old model, but that label alone does not establish whether authorized or secondary-market sellers currently have stock.
