There is no permanent, identical badge checklist that every Apple Watch owner can complete. Apple’s awards library changes with your activity history, software version, personal Monthly Challenges, seven-day competitions, and time-limited events. The practical goal is to earn every award that is currently available and personally eligible for you—not to chase a universal badge count that Apple does not promise.
This guide shows where to find the awards, what each category requires, how to plan your activity, and what to do when a badge does not appear.
Where to find Apple Watch Activity badges
Apple generally calls these achievements awards. Many people still call them Activity badges, Apple Watch badges, or Fitness badges, so all of those terms refer to the same digital achievement system here. They are displayed in the Activity or Fitness award library; they are not physical medals, prizes, or medical certifications.
On your Apple Watch:
- Open the Activity app.
- Tap the Awards button.
- Choose a category, such as Monthly Challenges, and open an individual award.
On your iPhone, open Fitness and tap Awards. The library shows awards you have already earned as well as awards that are currently in progress. Open a locked or in-progress award to see the requirement that applies to your account.

What the three Activity rings measure
Many recurring awards are tied to closing rings, increasing a goal, setting a record, or maintaining a streak. Before planning for those awards, understand what each ring actually represents:
| Ring | What it measures | What commonly affects awards |
|---|---|---|
| Move | Active calories burned. | Closing the ring, exceeding your daily Move goal, and setting Move records. |
| Exercise | Minutes of brisk activity. | Closing the ring, maintaining streaks, and setting Exercise records. |
| Stand | Hours in which you stood and moved for at least one minute. | Closing the ring and maintaining ring streaks. |
For a user configured for wheelchair use, the blue Stand ring becomes the Roll ring and tracks rolling activity instead. That distinction is important: follow the ring and award wording shown for your configuration rather than assuming every user sees the same measurements.
Activity rings are useful tracking and motivation tools, but they are not medical measurements. Apple Watch is not a medical device, and a badge is not evidence that a workout target is appropriate for your health or fitness level. Do not increase calorie or exercise targets to an unsafe level just to complete a digital award.
The five award groups you need to check
The names and contents can vary with watchOS, iOS, activity history, and availability. You may see categories such as these:
| Category | Typical timing | How to approach it |
|---|---|---|
| Close Your Rings | Daily, streak-based, or milestone-based. | Close rings consistently, pursue sensible records, and inspect each award’s exact requirement. |
| Monthly Challenges | One calendar month. | Open the current challenge early and calculate the daily or weekly effort it requires. |
| Limited Edition Challenges | A defined event window. | Check the deadline, record the qualifying activity, and do not assume a missed event can be recovered later. |
| Workouts | Activity-specific milestones or first-time achievements. | Record the required activity accurately, preferably with the native Workout or Mindfulness app. |
| Competitions | Seven-day Activity-sharing competitions. | Invite an eligible friend, complete the competition, and follow the award description for further milestones. |
1. Close Your Rings awards
Close Your Rings is the foundation of the recurring award system. It includes daily ring achievements and longer streak or milestone awards. Depending on your software version and history, the library may include awards for exceeding your Move goal by multiples such as 200%, 300%, or 400%, setting a new Move goal, setting a new Move record, and setting a new Exercise record.
That is an example of the type of award you may encounter, not a guaranteed complete list. Apple can show a different library to another user, and the award description is the final authority.
A sensible strategy for ring awards
- Set realistic goals. Your Move, Exercise, and Stand or Roll goals should be challenging enough to encourage activity but achievable without extreme effort.
- Close the rings consistently. Streak-related awards depend on repeated days, so one unusually difficult workout is less useful than a sustainable routine.
- Review your progress. Use the Activity summary and the Awards screen to identify whether you are working toward a streak, a record, or a percentage-above-goal award.
- Raise a goal only when it is genuinely too easy. When your current target no longer represents a meaningful challenge, use the goal-adjustment controls in Activity to set a new personal target. Some libraries recognize setting a new Move goal.
- Read the award before attempting an extreme day. A target based on a multiple of your Move goal can become unexpectedly demanding, particularly if you raise the goal first.
Do not manipulate goals or overtrain simply to trigger a badge. A sustainable target that you can repeat is a better collection strategy than a short-lived record followed by missed days, exhaustion, or injury.

2. Monthly Challenges
Monthly Challenges are personalized. Apple generates the target for the individual user, so two people can open the same month and see different requirements. A challenge might ask you to close your rings a certain number of times, achieve an average, complete a distance, record a number of workouts, or meet another activity condition.
To see yours, open Fitness > Awards > Monthly Challenges on iPhone, or open Activity > Awards on Apple Watch and select the Monthly Challenges category. Tap the current month and read the full requirement rather than relying on the badge image or a description from another user.
How to finish a Monthly Challenge reliably
- Check within the first few days of the month. A demanding distance, workout count, or ring total may be manageable over four weeks but unrealistic if discovered during the final weekend.
- Write down the target and deadline. Some requirements are easier to understand when converted into a daily or weekly average.
- Track the remaining amount regularly. Check the award’s progress instead of estimating from memory.
- Adjust your routine, not your health limits. Add reasonable walks or qualifying workouts when appropriate, but do not use extreme calorie targets or unsafe training volumes.
- Allow for synchronization. If the challenge is completed but the award is not immediately visible, follow the missing-award steps below.
Do not promise yourself an annual badge for completing every Monthly Challenge. Apple’s award model includes personal records, streaks, milestones, and competitions, while Monthly Challenges are stored as individual monthly awards. Your library may show a related milestone, but there is no universal annual completion award that every user is guaranteed to receive.
Challenge-tracking apps can help you monitor a demanding month or keep a record of past challenges. They cannot retroactively change Apple’s award record or guarantee that an incomplete challenge will be credited.

3. Limited Edition Challenges
Limited Edition awards are tied to a specific event and expire. Past calendars have included health, meditation, running, holiday, and other commemorative challenges. The event, requirement, date window, and regional availability can vary by year and country.
A historical badge list can help collectors understand what has existed, but it is not a future schedule. A badge that appeared in a previous year may not return, may return with a different requirement, or may not be offered in your region.
How to avoid missing a limited-time badge
- Turn on relevant Activity or Fitness notifications. Special-challenge notifications may be available depending on your software and settings.
- Check the Limited Edition Challenges category yourself. Notifications are helpful, but the award library shows the requirement and deadline that apply to your device.
- Read the qualifying activity carefully. A challenge may require a particular workout type, a mindfulness session, a distance, or activity recorded during a precise date window.
- Record it during the event window. Use Apple’s Workout or Mindfulness apps when possible. A compatible third-party app may contribute when it writes the appropriate workout or mindfulness data to Apple Health, but not every app qualifies for every award.
- Keep evidence until the award appears. Save the workout or mindfulness entry in Fitness if the award does not appear immediately.
An award can take time to process. Troubleshooting guidance based on Apple Support information has indicated that some awards may take up to nine days to appear after the requirement is met. That is a possible delay, not a promise that every award will take exactly nine days. If the activity is recorded correctly, wait through the expected processing period before assuming the challenge failed.

4. Workout awards
Workout awards recognize activity-specific milestones, records, or first-time achievements. The exact selection can change between watchOS releases. Depending on what your library offers, you may see awards associated with running, walking, cycling, swimming, hiking, yoga, or other workout types.
Open the Workouts category in your own Awards library and open each in-progress or locked award. The description may specify the activity type, distance, duration, number of sessions, or another condition. Recording a visually similar activity is not necessarily enough: a walk, hike, and outdoor run can be treated as different workout types.
Best recording method
Use the native Workout app on Apple Watch when possible. It creates the clearest connection between the activity and your Fitness history. A compatible third-party workout app may also contribute if it saves the appropriate workout data to Apple Health, but compatibility is award-specific. Do not assume that an app that writes some exercise data can satisfy every running, swimming, mindfulness, or distance award.
For a particular award, check three things before starting:
- the exact workout type Apple names;
- whether the requirement is based on one session, a total, a record, or a milestone; and
- the date or software conditions shown in the award description.
If an app is required for your preferred activity, verify its Apple Health permissions and confirm afterward that the workout appears in Fitness history. A missing Fitness entry is a strong indication that the activity has not yet been synchronized into the data Apple uses for the award.
5. Activity Competition awards
Activity Competitions are seven-day challenges between people who share Activity. You need an eligible friend who uses Apple Watch and has Activity sharing available.
How to pursue Competition awards
- Share Activity with a friend who uses Apple Watch.
- Send or accept a seven-day competition invitation.
- Read the competition details and complete the full seven-day period.
- Earn points by increasing the percentage completed on your Activity rings each day.
- Compete as strongly as is practical without using unsafe exertion.
- After the competition ends, check the Awards area for the competition award.
Apple’s competition system uses the percentage added to the rings each day and applies a weekly maximum. You do not need to invent a separate scoring system; the competition screen shows your current standing and the applicable scoring behavior.

If your library presents additional Competition milestones, you may need to complete further eligible competitions. Do not assume that the same friend can be used indefinitely for every possible badge. Follow the requirements shown in your award library and the current competition rules.
A realistic plan for collecting every available award
The best approach is a repeating review routine rather than an attempt to find one master checklist.

- Wear your Apple Watch during normal activity and workouts that you want recorded.
- Close the Move, Exercise, and Stand or Roll rings when reasonably safe.
- Review the Activity summary for missed ring progress or a workout that did not save.
- Keep the watch powered so it can continue recording activity. If you need uninterrupted tracking, charge it at a time that does not remove it from your wrist during an important activity period.
If you do not yet own the device, compare an Apple Watch that supports the Activity and Fitness features you intend to use. Model availability and features vary, so confirm current compatibility instead of assuming that every model offers identical capabilities.
Every week
- Review progress toward ring streaks, Move records, and Exercise records.
- Open Workouts and check whether an activity-specific award is in progress.
- Record a qualifying workout when the award requires one.
- Check whether an Activity Competition is active and complete the seven-day period.
At the start of every month
- Open Fitness > Awards > Monthly Challenges on iPhone, or check Activity > Awards on the watch.
- Read the target and calculate a reasonable daily or weekly average.
- Check Limited Edition Challenges and note their deadlines.
- Plan demanding distance, workout, or ring requirements before the month is already underway.
When traveling or changing regions
Limited Edition events can be sensitive to date, country, and region. Do not assume that a badge shown in an online collection will appear in the United States, another country, or a later year. The Awards library on your own devices is the final authority for what is currently available to you.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to fix a missing Apple Watch badge
If you believe you completed an award but it is absent, work through these steps in order:
- Confirm the activity is in Fitness history. Open the relevant workout, mindfulness session, or activity record on iPhone. If there is no record, Apple may have nothing from which to calculate the award.
- Reread the award requirement. Check the exact activity type, date window, duration, distance, ring percentage, and number of sessions. A similar-looking activity may not qualify.
- Check the Apple Account. Confirm that the Apple Watch and iPhone are signed in to the expected Apple Account and are using the intended Health and Fitness data.
- Allow synchronization. Keep both devices charged, nearby, and connected long enough for activity and Health data to synchronize.
- Check both award libraries. Look in Activity on the Apple Watch and Fitness on the iPhone. Historical software problems have caused awards to appear in one location but not the other.
- Wait for delayed processing. Some awards may take up to nine days to display after completion. Keep the relevant workout or activity record as proof while you wait.
- Contact Apple Support. If the requirement is plainly met, the data is present, synchronization is complete, and the award remains missing after the delay, Apple Support is the appropriate escalation point.
Do not edit Health data dishonestly, fabricate workouts, or raise goals to dangerous levels. Third-party streak-repair and data-editing tools may alter historical records, but they are not an Apple-supported or guaranteed way to earn an award. They can also make it harder to determine whether the original activity was recorded correctly.
Keeping the watch powered
A missing recording can be caused by a flat watch as easily as by a difficult award requirement. Existing owners who need a replacement can compare an Apple Watch charging cable, but should verify the connector and model compatibility before buying. Apple’s user guidance establishes charging as part of keeping the watch usable; it does not endorse any particular third-party charger.
Why a universal complete badge list is impossible
The phrase all Apple Watch badges sounds as if Apple publishes a fixed set of numbered achievements. In practice, several factors prevent that interpretation:
Best Value

- Monthly Challenges are personalized. The target can differ between users and changes each calendar month.
- Limited Edition Challenges expire. They are tied to event windows and can vary by year and region.
- The award library changes. watchOS and iOS releases can change categories, requirements, or availability.
- Personal history affects eligibility. Records, milestones, prior activity, and selected activity configuration can influence what you see.
- Competition awards require another participant. They cannot be completed entirely alone, and the available milestones may depend on current software behavior.
- Some awards are progressive or repeatable. A record, streak, or higher percentage target may lead to another award rather than ending the entire system with one final badge.
For that reason, the most accurate definition of collecting them all is: earn every award currently displayed as available or in progress in your own Activity and Fitness libraries, while checking back for new monthly, limited-edition, workout, and competition awards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I earn every Apple Watch Activity badge?
You can pursue every award currently available and personally eligible on your Apple Watch, but Apple does not guarantee one permanent, identical badge list for every user. Monthly Challenges are personalized, Limited Edition awards expire, and the library can change with software, region, and activity history.
Why is my friend’s Monthly Challenge different from mine?
Monthly Challenges are generated for individual users. Requirements can differ by activity history and may involve ring closures, averages, distance, workouts, or another condition. Open the challenge in Fitness or Activity to see your own requirement.
Can I earn a missed Limited Edition badge later?
Usually, you should treat a Limited Edition award as unavailable after its event window ends. Historical badge lists cannot restore a missed event, and a future version may not return or may have a different requirement.
Can a third-party workout app earn Apple Watch awards?
A compatible third-party app may contribute when it writes the appropriate workout or mindfulness data to Apple Health. Eligibility is award-specific, however, so the native Workout or Mindfulness app is the safest baseline and no app should be assumed to qualify for every award.
How long can an Apple Watch award take to appear?
Some awards may take up to nine days after the requirement is met. First confirm that the activity appears in Fitness history, synchronize the watch and iPhone, check both award libraries, and contact Apple Support if the award remains missing after the delay.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe Bottom Line
There is no honest universal number of Apple Watch Activity badges to complete. Open Activity > Awards on the watch and Fitness > Awards on iPhone, follow each award’s own requirement, check Monthly and Limited Edition categories early, record workouts accurately, and give delayed awards time to synchronize. That is the reliable way to collect every badge currently available to you.
