The new digital G-SHOCK Frogman is the GW-8200TPF-1. Casio gives it a black-and-fluorescent-green design inspired by the three-striped poison frog, plus an ISO-rated 200-meter dive-watch specification, solar power and dedicated dive functions. “Military-inspired” describes an impression of its rugged styling, not an inspiration Casio identifies on the official product page.
What is the new digital G-SHOCK Frogman?
It is the Casio G-SHOCK Frogman GW-8200TPF-1, a digital model in the Frogman line. The model number matters: Casio also sells analog Frogman watches under its premium MR-G range, but those are separate watches with different designs and features.
Casio says the GW-8200TPF-1 is inspired by the three-striped poison frog found in South American rainforests. Its black base, fluorescent green vertical stripes and sprayed coating on the band and bezel are intended to evoke the frog’s skin. Casio’s product description does not identify military use or military design as the source of this watch’s styling. Casio’s GW-8200TPF product page
What dive and everyday functions does it have?
Casio lists the GW-8200TPF with a shock-resistant structure, Tough Solar power and ISO 200-meter water resistance. Its dive functions include dive time, surface-interval measurement and log data recording the dive’s start date and time and its duration. The listed functions are specifications, not independent test results for this particular model.
#1 Best Overall
- 30th Anniversary Model / Love The Sea Earth
- Shock resistant
- Easy to see in darkness
- Stable solar power
- ISO 200 meter water resistant
- Dive use: dive-time and surface-interval functions, plus dive log data.
- Timekeeping and outdoor information: world time for 48 cities, a tide graph and moon data.
- Daily timing: a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer and five daily alarms.
- Visibility: a full-auto LED backlight.
These features give the watch more than a dive-time display, but the official specification should not be read as a substitute for training or dive equipment suited to the conditions.
What does ISO 200-meter water resistance mean here?
Casio describes the Frogman collection as an ISO-rated 200-meter dive-watch collection. Its US collection page distinguishes that rating from the 200-meter water resistance found on most G-SHOCK watches, which Casio says are not ISO-rated as dive watches. In other words, “200 meters” alone does not tell you whether a watch carries an ISO dive-watch rating. Casio’s Frogman collection page

When did the GW-8200TPF-1 go on sale?
Availability dates differ by market. Casio’s international product page says the watch ships in December 2025. In Malaysia, G-SHOCK listed online availability beginning January 9, 2026, at 11:00, with availability at G-SHOCK stores from mid-January. Those dates describe the stated availability in those markets, not one universal launch date. International product page · G-SHOCK Malaysia release information

How it differs from the analog MR-G Frogman
The GW-8200TPF-1 is the digital Frogman discussed here. It is not the analog MRGBF1000B or the limited-edition MRG-BF1000EB. Casio describes the MRGBF1000B as an MR-G with a titanium exterior, Bluetooth, Multiband 6, Tough Solar, ISO 200-meter water resistance, dive mode, surface-interval display and smartphone dive logs. Casio’s MRGBF1000B product page
The MRG-BF1000EB is another distinct MR-G model. In a May 27, 2026 release, Casio said it was inspired by polar brinicles and limited to 800 pieces worldwide. Its details include a faceted COBARION bezel, lab-grown blue sapphires, a Dura-Soft band, a titanium bracelet and a band mounting tool. None of those details or the 800-piece limit describes the digital GW-8200TPF-1. Casio’s MRG-BF1000EB announcement
