How much does the GW-BX5600 cost?
Casio’s official 2026 Spring/Summer Japanese catalog lists both GW-BX5600-1JF and GW-BX5600-1A1JF at ¥30,800 including tax. Casio’s China product listing gives CNY 1,390 for the GW-BX5600-1. These are prices for specific regional listings and suffixes, not a universal price; local retail prices and availability can vary.
Notebookcheck reported ¥30,800 as leaked Japanese pricing on September 29, 2025, before launch. Casio’s later Japanese catalog confirms that figure for the JF variants. The earlier report’s “upcoming” framing is now historical.
Has the GW-BX5600 been released?
Yes. Casio’s September 2025 launch announcement said the watch would ship in November 2025. Official regional product listings and the Japanese 2026 Spring/Summer catalog now document it as a released model.

What is new about the MIP display?
Casio calls the GW-BX5600 the first 5600-series watch with a memory-in-pixel LCD. The company describes it as a high-contrast, full-dot display with a wide viewing angle and says it provides more detail than a conventional LCD and is readable in bright outdoor settings. These are manufacturer claims; no independent controlled comparison or legibility measurement is established here.
The display supports four selectable time-mode layouts. Through the app, users can switch the primary font between STANDARD and CLASSIC. Those adjustments make the MIP implementation more than a change in display technology: they let the wearer choose how the watch’s main time screen is presented.

Casio also says the newly developed MIP display can be powered entirely by solar. The launch announcement pairs it with the watch’s Tough Solar charging system.

What features and dimensions does it have?
Casio lists Tough Solar charging, Multiband 6 radio time calibration and Bluetooth Smartphone Link, as well as shock resistance and a full-auto LED backlight. Timekeeping tools include a stopwatch, countdown timer and five daily alarms.
Casio UK’s specifications for the GW-BX5600-1A1 give dimensions of 49.1 × 44.1 × 13.4 mm and a weight of 51 g. The same listing rates water resistance at 20 bar (200 metres). These are the UK-listed specifications for that variant.

How should you decide whether it fits?
- Choose by display: Pick the positive GW-BX5600-1 if you prefer its contrasting presentation and DW-5600C-inspired colors; the GW-BX5600-1A1 uses a negative display and monochromatic styling.
- Consider the MIP controls: The four time layouts and two app-selectable font styles matter most if you want to tailor the main time screen. Casio’s visibility descriptions are not independent test results.
- Weigh the connectivity: Tough Solar, Multiband 6 and Bluetooth Smartphone Link combine solar charging, radio time calibration and phone-based settings management. Consider which of those functions you will actually use.
- Compare local listings: Japanese and Chinese prices are not directly interchangeable as local MSRP. Confirm the regional suffix, display variant, availability and current price where you plan to buy.
