Casio introduced the EDIFICE EFK-100 as its first automatic-watch collection in India. The standout EFK-100XPB-1A uses forged carbon in both its case and dial; the EFK-100CD-1A has a stainless-steel case with a forged-carbon dial, while the EFK-100D-3A uses a dial made to reproduce forged carbon’s appearance. Casio India’s listed MRPs are ₹39,995, ₹26,995 and ₹25,995 respectively.
What makes the EFK-100 launch notable?
Casio’s India launch materials describe the EFK-100 as the EDIFICE line’s first mechanical-watch series and Casio India’s first automatic-watch collection in the country. The launch release said five models debuted; the current Casio India product pages surface specific variants, so the launch count and the currently listed models are not necessarily the same lineup.
The central distinction is how each version uses forged carbon. Casio says the XPB variant is “the first EDIFICE watch to feature forged carbon — a material also used in high-end sports cars — in its dial and case.” That statement refers to the XPB, not every watch in the EFK-100 series.
Which EFK-100 models use actual forged carbon?
| Model | Case | Dial | Band | Listed India MRP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EFK-100XPB-1A | Forged carbon and stainless steel, per Casio’s case-and-bezel listing | Forged carbon | Resin | ₹39,995, inclusive of taxes; Casio India listing accessed 2026 |
| EFK-100CD-1A | Stainless steel | Forged carbon | Stainless-steel bracelet | ₹26,995, inclusive of taxes; Casio India listing accessed 2026 |
| EFK-100D-3A | Stainless steel | Electroformed texture reproducing the appearance of forged carbon | Stainless-steel bracelet | ₹25,995, inclusive of taxes; Casio India listing accessed 2026 |
Forged carbon is not simply a printed pattern. Casio describes it as carbon fiber mixed into resin and formed in a press die under heat and pressure, creating distinctive marbled patterns. The company characterizes the material as light and rigid; those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent comparative test results.

- Choose the XPB-1A if actual forged carbon in both case and dial is the priority. It is the series’ defining material variant and has a resin band.
- Consider the CD-1A if you want a forged-carbon dial with a stainless-steel case and bracelet. It is smaller and heavier than the XPB-1A according to Casio’s listed dimensions and weights.
- Consider the D-3A if the forged-carbon appearance is sufficient. Its dial texture is electroformed to reproduce that look; it is not listed as a forged-carbon dial.
The listed specifications do not establish which model is more comfortable, durable or accurate over time; those judgments would require evidence beyond Casio’s product information.
