The Casio “Nismo” EQS-930NIS-1AER is a distinctive 2022 limited-edition EDIFICE: a solar chronograph with a carbon-fiber dial, NISMO motorsport details and a short-duration stopwatch. It has a strong case as a standout enthusiast edition, but “the best EDIFICE ever” is a personal verdict, not one established by a range-wide comparison.
What is the Casio NISMO EQS-930NIS-1AER?
Casio announced the EQS-930NIS on February 9, 2022, as a limited edition created with NISMO, Nissan’s motorsport affiliate. Casio’s Japanese announcement gave it a March 4, 2022 release date. It is a specific collaboration edition, not a claim about Casio’s current EDIFICE generation. Casio’s announcement and its English-language release describe the model and its features.

What makes its design NISMO-inspired?
The design combines a real carbon-fiber dial with red and black accents, colors Casio identifies with NISMO. Red details appear on the inset dials, buttons and sides of the bezel. The bezel, band loop and case back carry NISMO branding, while the number 23 is engraved at the bezel’s 23-minute position and on the case back.
Casio says the ten-o’clock inset is intended to evoke heat discoloration on titanium parts, and the urethane band’s surface treatment recalls worn post-race tire tread. These are design references; they do not establish that the watch was used in racing or that the strap has special performance properties. Casio outlines the styling on its Philippines product page and in its release.

The dimensions are worth checking against your wrist and preferences: this is a 52.0 mm-long, 47.5 mm-wide case, with an approximate weight of 98 g. A single hands-on review offers a favorable but necessarily limited perspective. Rob Nudds of Fratello wrote after wearing it for several days that he found the colorful ten-minute retrograde display engaging and legible, and that it wore better than its dimensions suggested. He recommended it particularly to racing fans and younger watch buyers. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a comparative test. Fratello’s review was published June 13, 2022, and identified as a preferred-position post.
Is it the best EDIFICE ever?
It can reasonably be called a compelling EDIFICE for someone who wants overt motorsport styling and a solar chronograph. Its carbon-fiber dial, NISMO engravings, number-23 details and tire-inspired band make the collaboration more distinctive than a restrained everyday design. The solar power, date and battery-level indication add practical functions, while the stopwatch is aimed at short intervals rather than long-duration timing.
There is not enough evidence to rank it as the best EDIFICE overall. The available independent assessment is one favorable review, and the cited sources do not provide a complete comparison with other EDIFICE models across fit, materials, functions and price. A buyer who prefers a smaller case, longer timing capacity, a less conspicuous design or a different feature set may reasonably choose another model.
Price and availability
Casio’s Japanese announcement listed a launch suggested retail price of ¥39,600 including tax, for the 2022 release. That is historical Japanese launch pricing, not a current market quote. The sources here do not establish present-day stock or resale prices. Casio’s Philippines page documents the model but does not confirm current availability. If buying, check that a listing is specifically for EQS-930NIS-1AER and verify its condition and seller details.
