Casio’s pagoda-inspired ultra-premium G-Shock is the MR-G MRG-B2100D, specifically identified in Singapore as the MRG-B2100D-2A. Its design takes cues from a five-story national-treasure pagoda in Yamagata Prefecture, imagined in drifting morning mist. The lattice dial references Japanese kigumi wood joinery and is colored hanada-iro blue.
Which MR-G is inspired by the pagoda?
The watch is the Casio G-Shock MR-G MRG-B2100D. Casio’s Singapore feature page names the blue-dial regional variant MRG-B2100D-2A; the pagoda motif should not be attributed to every watch in the MR-G line. Casio announced the MRG-B2100D on January 8, 2026. Singapore availability was listed from January 30, 2026, which is a market-specific date and does not establish stock or release timing elsewhere. Casio’s international announcement and Singapore feature page provide the model details.
How the pagoda and Japanese craft inform the design
The mist-shrouded pagoda
Casio says the design draws on a five-story national-treasure pagoda in Yamagata Prefecture, seen in the stillness of morning mist. The reference is expressed as an overall mood and structure rather than a literal pagoda illustration on the dial.
Kigumi lattice and hanada-iro blue
The dial’s lattice pattern evokes kigumi, a traditional Japanese wood joinery technique. Casio gives the blue its traditional name, hanada-iro. Openings in the lattice allow light through to the solar-powered watch, so the pattern also serves a functional purpose.

Materials, construction and finish
Casio specifies 27 separate components in the case and bezel, each polished before assembly. The Singapore feature describes a Multi-Guard Structure with buffers between bezel components intended to help absorb impacts.
The listed materials include a COBARION top bezel, DAT55G bracelet links, and a special Ti64 titanium alloy for the case, case back, buttons and crown. Casio describes COBARION as about four times harder than pure titanium and DAT55G as about three times harder. Those are the manufacturer’s material comparisons, not independent tests of the assembled watch. The titanium components receive a titanium carbide finish. The crystal is scratch-resistant sapphire with an anti-reflective coating.

Do not confuse it with the MRG-B2100HR-1A
Casio announced another B2100-family MR-G, the MRG-B2100HR-1A, on September 24, 2026. It is a separate 30th-anniversary limited model with a dial individually decorated with platinum foil by foil artist Hiroto Rakusho. Casio Japan announced a November 13, 2026 release, a global limited run of 800, and a Japan suggested retail price of ¥1,100,000 including tax. Those details belong to the HR-1A, not the pagoda-inspired MRG-B2100D-2A. Casio Japan’s announcement covers that distinct watch.
