The Citizen NH9120 is a family of automatic mechanical watches, but the published details are not identical for every reference. Citizen Italy’s model-specific sheet documents the NH9120-11E with a 41 mm Super Titanium case, 21-jewel movement, 40-hour power reserve, sapphire crystal and 10 bar water resistance. A separate Citizen European catalog lists both the NH9120-11E and NH9120-88A, but does not establish a complete current specification or availability comparison for the two.

What is the Citizen NH9120?
NH9120 identifies a Citizen mechanical-watch collection with at least two documented references: NH9120-11E and NH9120-88A. Citizen Italy’s 2021 brochure provides detailed specifications for the 11E. A Citizen Europe Q4 2020 catalog names both references and gives shared collection-level specifications, but that older catalog does not confirm present-day retail stock.
For a purchase, treat the reference printed on the watch or seller listing as essential. The 11E’s detailed strap and movement information should not automatically be assigned to the 88A.

Citizen Italy’s 2021 brochure labels the NH9120-11E “AUTOMATICO” and lists the following model-specific details:

These are brochure specifications, not independent measurements or test results. The same 2021 brochure printed a price of €278 for the NH9120-11E; that is a historical catalog price, not a current offer.

What is established about the NH9120-88A?
Citizen’s European Q4 2020 catalog lists NH9120-88A alongside NH9120-11E as a new collection model. Its collection entry describes an automatic movement, a 41 mm Super Titanium case, sapphire crystal, a screw-down caseback with display window, and 10 bar water resistance.
The catalog does not provide a full current side-by-side specification sheet for the 88A and 11E. In particular, the detailed 2021 Italy sheet’s leather band, 21 jewels and 40-hour reserve are specific to the NH9120-11E listing and should not be treated as confirmed 88A specifications. Nor does a 2020 catalog entry establish that either reference is currently available in a given country.

What Citizen means by Super Titanium
Citizen’s US collection page describes Super Titanium as its proprietary material, made by treating titanium with DURATECT, its proprietary surface-hardening technology. Citizen Italy also characterizes the material as lightweight, hypoallergenic and resistant to wear. These are manufacturer descriptions; the cited product literature is not an independent comparative materials test.
Is the NH9120-88A a good watch?
The published catalog details suggest a mechanical watch with a titanium-based case, sapphire crystal and 10 bar water-resistance rating. Those features may make the 88A worth considering if that combination suits your priorities. The sources here do not establish a complete movement specification, bracelet or strap details, current price, or current availability for that reference, so a definitive value judgment would require checking the exact watch and its regional listing.

How to compare NH9120 references before buying
- Confirm the exact reference. Match the full model code—such as NH9120-11E or NH9120-88A—on the listing, warranty paperwork and watch documentation.
- Check the movement details for that reference. For the 11E, Citizen Italy’s 2021 sheet states automatic winding, 21 jewels and a 40-hour reserve. Do not infer those details for another reference from the family name alone.
- Verify case and wearing details. Check the case diameter and whether the specific listing describes a leather strap or bracelet. The 11E brochure specifies leather; the cited catalog does not establish the 88A’s band details.
- Confirm practical specifications. Read the regional model page or supplied documentation for crystal, caseback and water resistance rather than relying on a family-level or retailer summary.
- Check current local price and stock. Historical catalog entries and the 2021 €278 figure do not establish a present price or availability. Compare current offers for the same reference and market.
NH9120 mechanical or Citizen Eco-Drive?
The NH9120 references covered here are described as automatic mechanical watches. The available material does not provide a specific Eco-Drive model comparison, so it cannot support a model-by-model verdict between the NH9120 and a particular Eco-Drive watch. Make the choice by comparing the exact alternatives’ movement, specifications and upkeep requirements in their official documentation, rather than assuming that Citizen’s brand or titanium material makes the two technologies interchangeable.
