Chopard announced two new L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 Straw Marquetry editions in October 2025: an ethical yellow-gold model with a brown dial and an ethical white-gold model with a black dial. Each is limited to eight pieces and combines a hand-laid straw dial with the hand-wound L.U.C 98.06-L jumping-hour movement, which is reported to deliver an eight-day power reserve.
Two versions, differentiated by metal and color
Monochrome Watches introduced the editions on 15 October 2025. The two references share their stated dimensions, movement, water resistance, limited quantity and launch price; the differences are the case metal, dial and matching strap color.

Each strap is described as hand-sewn alligator leather with a matching 18-carat ethical-gold pin buckle. The launch article does not report a performance or price difference between the editions.
How the straw-marquetry dial is made
Monochrome describes a base of ethical gold covered with small pieces of Burgundy rye straw. For the brown and black versions, the straw is dyed, split, flattened and cut into hexagons with a scalpel, then arranged by hand in a honeycomb pattern. Differences in grain direction and thickness give the dial its texture; the surface is finished with wood wax.

The dial’s changing grain and texture are central to the design, rather than a printed honeycomb effect. The article characterizes the finish as anti-glare, but does not include a maker interview or a direct Chopard quotation.
Jumping-hour display and eight-day movement
Both watches use the hand-wound L.U.C 98.06-L calibre. The hour appears in an aperture at six o’clock and changes instantaneously, while a central Dauphine-fusée hand indicates the minutes. A power-reserve display is on the movement side, rather than the dial.

Monochrome reports that four barrels stacked and coupled in series make up the movement’s Quattro architecture, and that the calibre provides a 192-hour (eight-day) power reserve. Its reported specifications are:
- Dimensions: 31.80 mm across and 4.85 mm thick
- 240 components and 42 jewels
- Frequency: 28,800 vibrations per hour
- Hacking seconds
The article also describes a Phillips terminal-curve hairspring and swan’s-neck fine adjustment, with Côtes de Genève on the bridges, perlage on the mainplate, anglage, gilded engravings and Poinçon de Genève finishing. These movement and finishing details are reported by Monochrome Watches, rather than independently verified manufacturer specifications.

Case dimensions and water resistance
The case measures 40 mm in diameter and 10.30 mm thick. Its middle is vertically satin-brushed, while the bezel and caseback are polished. A glare-proofed sapphire crystal covers the dial, and a sapphire exhibition back exposes the movement. The reported water-resistance rating is 50 m.

Monochrome Watches reported a launch price of EUR 73,400 for each version and said they were available through Chopard boutiques and selected partners. Those are launch details from its 15 October 2025 article, not a current price or confirmation of stock. Current availability, local pricing and taxes are not established here.
