Chopard Alpine Eagle 41 SL Cadence 8HF Review: An 8 Hz Titanium Limited Edition

The Chopard Alpine Eagle 41 SL Cadence 8HF, reference 298600-3028, pairs a high-frequency 8 Hz movement with ceramicised titanium across its case, crown, dial and movement components. Chopard limits it to 250 pieces. Those specifications make it an unusual, technically focused Alpine Eagle; they do not, on their own, prove how accurately a particular watch keeps time or how it feels on the wrist.

What makes the 41 SL Cadence 8HF unusual?

Its two defining features are its movement frequency and material treatment. Chopard’s self-winding caliber 01.14-C runs at 8 Hz—57,600 vibrations per hour—and the brand says ceramicised titanium is used for the case, crown, dial and movement. Chopard lists the caliber as COSC-certified, with an approximately 60-hour power reserve. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent timing-test results.

Chopard’s official product page identifies this reference as a 250-piece limited edition. The U.S. page displayed a price of $28,700 when accessed in 2026 and described availability as very limited, with a register-interest prompt. That is a regional, time-sensitive page display, not a guarantee of stock or a universal price. Chopard’s U.S. product page is the place to check current details.

What does 8 Hz mean in this watch?

Frequency describes how rapidly the movement’s regulating system oscillates. Chopard expresses the caliber’s 8 Hz rate as 57,600 vibrations per hour. The figure is notably high for a mechanical wristwatch, but frequency alone is not an accuracy rating: real-world timekeeping depends on the complete movement and the condition and adjustment of an individual watch.

The caliber is listed as COSC-certified, which is a certification claim from the manufacturer’s product specifications. Neither that designation nor the 8 Hz figure establishes the measured performance of a specific example after it is worn. No independent timing result for this 2025 reference is established here.

Case, dial and specifications

Chopard lists a 41 mm case diameter and 9.70 mm thickness, with water resistance of 100 metres. The dial is described as Pitch Black titanium with orange accents; the listed strap is black rubber. Functions are date, hours, minutes, seconds and stop seconds.

The product page does not provide a measured total watch weight. Chopard’s official video description, published May 16, 2025, calls the model the “lightest Alpine Eagle,” but gives no mass measurement; treat that as brand positioning rather than a quantified comparison. Chopard’s video description also presents the model as a precision-focused combination of a 41 mm ceramised-titanium case and high-frequency movement.

How it differs from the earlier Cadence 8HF

The 2025 reference 298600-3028 is not the same watch as the Cadence 8HF in Chopard’s 2023 catalog. That earlier 250-piece, 41 mm titanium model is reference 298600-3005 and uses caliber 01.12-C. Chopard also specified 8 Hz / 57,600 vibrations per hour, COSC certification and 100 m water resistance for that version; it was listed with a titanium bracelet. The current 298600-3028 instead specifies caliber 01.14-C, ceramicised titanium including movement components, and a black rubber strap. The shared Cadence 8HF name and frequency should not obscure the different references and calibers. Chopard’s 2023 Alpine Eagle catalog documents the earlier version.

What can—and cannot—be concluded from the specifications

The listed dimensions, materials, functions and movement details make the 298600-3028 a clearly specified limited edition. But the available product information does not establish hands-on comfort, measured weight, independent timing performance or owner experience for this exact 2025 model. A high frequency, a COSC listing and a claimed low weight should not be mistaken for those kinds of evidence.

For care, use the instructions supplied with the specific watch or ask Chopard service. Chopard’s 2023 Alpine Eagle manual includes earlier Cadence 8HF versions and surfaced text naming caliber 01.12-C; it does not establish care instructions for the current 01.14-C model. The 2023 manual is historical context, not a substitute for the current watch’s documentation.
