The Chopard Mille Miglia 2019 Race Edition is a limited-edition automatic chronograph offered in two versions: the stainless-steel reference 168571-3004, limited to 1,000 pieces, and the steel-and-18K-rose-gold reference 168571-6002, limited to 250. Both measure 44 mm across and 14.63 mm thick, with reported water resistance of 100 metres. Its grey dial, black chronograph registers, tachymeter bezel and perforated cognac strap give the watch its distinctly motorsport-inspired look.
2019 Race Edition references and limited quantities
Contemporary specialist-watch reports identify two versions of the 2019 Race Edition. The steel 168571-3004 is the central model; reference 168571-6002 combines steel with 18K rose gold.

The quantities and original prices were reported in 2019 by Fratello; Monochrome Watches also reported the steel model’s launch price. These are historical retail figures, not current market values.

The following dimensions and movement details are reported for the steel 168571-3004. Contemporary coverage gives the two-tone version the same case dimensions and water-resistance rating.

The movement is described in contemporary reports as an automatic, COSC-certified chronograph, not as an in-house calibre. Specifications are reported by Fratello and Monochrome Watches.
Dial, chronograph and racing-inspired strap
The grey snailed dial sets off black chronograph registers. A date aperture sits at 3 o’clock and small seconds at 9; the chronograph also has 30-minute and 12-hour counters. A tachymeter scale on the bezel reinforces the racing theme and offers a way to calculate average speed over a measured distance when used with the chronograph.

The perforated cognac calfskin strap has tone-on-tone stitching and a black rubber lining patterned after 1960s Dunlop racing tires. The steel case back is engraved with Mille Miglia imagery. These details, along with the chronograph and tachymeter, connect the design to the event rather than making the watch a replica of a specific car or period instrument.
Steel vs. two-tone: what changes?
The principal differences are material, edition size and original price. Both versions share the reported 44 mm diameter, 14.63 mm thickness and 100 m water resistance; available contemporary reports do not establish a different movement family for the two-tone watch.

- 168571-6002: steel with 18K rose-gold details, including the bezel, crown and pushers as described by Fratello; limited to 250, with a reported original price of €9,950.
The rose-gold accents give the second version a warmer, more visibly dressy finish. The steel reference keeps the look more uniform and is the more numerous of the two editions.
How the watch relates to the Mille Miglia
The Mille Miglia is a historic Italian road rally. GMTPost describes its route as a roughly 1,600 km loop from Brescia to Rome and back, run in four stages. The chronograph, tachymeter and tire-patterned strap are practical and visual references to motorsport, while the case-back engraving ties the watch to the event.

Chopard’s official 2020 product page describes the brand as a partner and official timekeeper of the Mille Miglia, and says it presents a new timepiece series annually in tribute to the event. It also says participating teams receive that year’s edition at the race start. That page provides context for the annual tradition; it does not independently confirm a specific 2019 race-start detail. GMTPost attributes to Enzo Ferrari the description “la corsa più bella del mondo,” but does not give a date or primary source for the wording, so the attribution should be treated as reported rather than independently authenticated.

The 2019 models are no longer current-launch watches. Chrono24’s page for reference 168571-3004 displayed secondary-market listings when accessed, but listings and asking prices change. An asking price is not evidence of a completed-sale price or a reliable valuation.
