What is the Atelier de Chronométrie AdC22?
The AdC22 is a time-only watch that combines a vintage-influenced design with a movement Atelier de Chronométrie presented as its first in-house calibre. The Barcelona-based independent watchmaker’s earlier watches, according to Time+Tide’s 18 February 2023 article, used restored or reworked vintage movements.
That background makes the M284 central to the AdC22’s story: rather than another watch built around a vintage calibre, the model was reported as the first to use a new movement developed for the brand.
How is the AdC22 designed?
Dial and hands
The dial is described as a galvanised pseudo-sector layout. A prominent minute track frames a silver hour track with applied circular indices, while the small-seconds subdial has a railroad track and azurage finish. The article’s reviewer praised the hands’ dimensional finishing; that is a visual impression, not a quantified specification.

Case and wearing details
The case is described as Calatrava-like, with polished tops on the lugs set against a brushed stepped bezel and midcase. A large, handmade crown completes the profile. The reported dimensions are 37.5 mm in diameter and 9 mm thick. Case options are stainless steel or 18k gold; the watch is listed with 30 metres of water resistance, sapphire crystals on both sides, and a brown aged-leather strap with a stainless-steel pin buckle.
What movement is in the AdC22?
Time+Tide reported that the M284 was built from scratch with the help of Luca Soprana. The article does not identify an individual speaker for that wording, so it is best understood as the publication’s account of the movement’s development, rather than a direct quotation from a named maker.

Its described construction includes a swan-neck regulator, a large screwed balance, Geneva stripes, black-polished countersinks, bevelled screws, and anglage with four internal angles. These finishing and construction details are reported by the 2023 article.
How does the AdC22 fit the brand’s history?
Time+Tide’s account traces Atelier de Chronométrie to Barcelona and says the brand introduced its first watch in 2016 with a restored and hand-decorated Omega calibre 266. The article says that watch received Observatoire Chronomètre certification from the Besançon observatory and calls it the first Spanish timepiece to earn that certification; those are the source’s historical claims.

The same account describes the 2020 AdC8 rattrapante chronograph as using a Venus 185 movement, with 50 of its 280 components replaced and handmade. Against that history of reworking vintage calibres, the AdC22’s reported M284 marks a shift in the movement story. Separately, Time+Tide reported that the AdC21OW sold for CHF 95,000 at the 2021 OnlyWatch charity auction, double its high estimate. That result concerns a different model and is not an AdC22 price or valuation.
