The Citizen AQ4100-65W is a limited-edition The CITIZEN Eco-Drive watch released in November 2023. Its defining feature is a Tosa washi paper dial finished with platinum leaf, set inside a Super Titanium case and bracelet. Citizen announced 500 pieces worldwide; its U.S. product page currently lists the model as sold out, though availability varies by market.
What makes the AQ4100-65W’s dial different?
The dial combines Japanese Tosa washi paper with platinum leaf. Citizen Hong Kong identifies the finishing technique as Sunago-Maki. The paper’s delicate texture and translucence let light reach the Eco-Drive movement beneath it; Citizen says Tosa washi has been used on The CITIZEN dials since 2017 for its patterns and ability to admit light (Citizen Watch Global Network, 17 September 2026).
That material choice is functional as well as decorative: Eco-Drive converts light into energy, so the dial allows light to pass through to the movement. Citizen describes the result as a white dial with a look shaped by light, texture, and color (Citizen U.S. product page).

- Japanese quartz movement with analog display
- Three-link stainless steel band with fold-over clasp
- Water resistant to 30 m (99 ft): In general, withstands splashes or brief immersion in water, but not suitable for swimming
What does the A060 movement do?
In addition to light-powered operation and the stated ±5-second-per-year accuracy, Citizen lists these functions for the A060:
- Perpetual calendar and midnight calendar update
- Power reserve indicator and insufficient-charge warning
- Energy-saving function
- Shock detection and automatic hand-position adjustment
- Time-difference correction
The quoted running-time figures describe different operating conditions rather than competing estimates: the longer figure requires power-save to be active.

How much did the AQ4100-65W cost, and is it still available?
Prices depend on market and date. Citizen Japan’s original November 2023 launch price was ¥451,000 including tax (¥410,000 before tax). Citizen Hong Kong lists HK$32,280. These are regional figures, not a direct currency conversion or a single current international price.
Citizen’s U.S. product page currently marks the watch “Sold Out.” That status does not establish availability elsewhere or on the resale market. Check the exact AQ4100-65W reference with a local authorized retailer, and confirm stock, seller, and warranty terms before buying. The 2023 announcement specifies an edition of 500 worldwide; it does not establish how many remain available today.

Who should consider this model?
The AQ4100-65W is a distinctive option for someone who values Japanese paper craft and a light-responsive dial but wants the convenience of a light-powered movement. Its 38.3 mm case, titanium construction, sapphire crystal, 100 m water resistance, and annual-accuracy specification make it more than a decorative dial piece. Buyers should weigh those attributes against its limited production and market-dependent availability, and inspect the exact dial and condition if considering a pre-owned example.

Citizen U.S. states a five-year limited warranty for this model. Warranty coverage and terms vary by market, so confirm the applicable local policy and whether it covers a watch purchased from the seller in question. Verify that the listing is for reference AQ4100-65W—not another Citizen washi-dial model—and ask for clear photos and documentation when buying outside Citizen’s own retail channel.
