The exact reference is EO2020-08E. Citizen’s US product page describes it as a smaller 37 mm design, while the technical table gives the case width as 36.5 mm. That compact measurement is the main appeal for someone who finds many dive watches too large. It preserves familiar dive-watch cues rather than reducing the watch to a minimalist dress design: a prominent bezel, oversized hands, applied markers, and a date window.
What the specifications actually promise
Light-powered Eco-Drive
The EO2020-08E uses Citizen’s E168 Eco-Drive movement. Citizen says it is powered by light and eliminates the need to replace watch batteries. That is a low-maintenance power system, not a claim that the watch never needs attention or servicing.

These are the documented features; the specification alone does not establish how the watch feels or performs in day-to-day wear.
200 m water resistance
Citizen specifies 200 m/20 bar water resistance and identifies it as suitable for scuba diving. Treat that as the stated rating for this reference, not as proof that the EO2020-08E complies with ISO 6425. A depth or pressure rating alone does not establish compliance with that standard.

ISO wording: compare the exact reference
Citizen Europe explains that ISO 6425 covers requirements beyond water resistance, including readability, magnetic resistance, shock resistance, and strap strength. It states: “CITIZEN reserves the term diver’s watch for watches that conform to the ISO 6425 standard.” This is Citizen Europe’s wording, not a quotation from ISO. The US page for the black EO2020-08E reviewed here does not explicitly claim ISO compliance. Citizen’s page for the related EO2027-50X does explicitly call that model ISO compliant and 200 m water resistant. Do not transfer that claim from one reference to the other. EO2020-08E or EO2027-50X?

Choosing a strap for the black model
The EO2020-08E’s listed 18 mm lug width gives you a concrete measurement to use when searching for straps. It does not guarantee that every aftermarket strap will fit: attachment hardware, spring-bar dimensions, and the shape of the strap ends can also matter. Check those details with the seller or against the watch before ordering.
Citizen also lists a scuba-tank-inspired collector’s box and a five-year limited warranty for the EO2020-08E. Box contents, warranty coverage, and availability can vary by market or change over time, so confirm the current terms with Citizen or the retailer in your region.
