Citizen’s 2024 Godzilla 70th-anniversary collaboration comes in two Promaster Eco-Drive Professional Diver 300 m references: the black-dial BJ8056-01E and dark-red-dial BJ8059-03Z. Citizen announced worldwide production limits of 2,500 and 3,000 pieces, respectively. The company published the specifications and launch details, but this is not a hands-on review or an independent test.
Two references, two Godzilla designs
The two watches share a case and core specifications, but use different dial colors, Godzilla artwork, and announced production quantities.

These are Citizen’s announced edition limits, not figures for current stock or remaining availability. Both versions use camouflage across the dial, case, and bezel, inspired by Godzilla’s scaly skin; Citizen says small Godzilla figures are concealed in the pattern. A Godzilla footprint appears on the case back. Each has a polyurethane band containing biomass-derived material. Citizen’s 2024 announcement describes “Ecozilla” as a fan nickname combining Eco-Drive and Godzilla.
Published dimensions and diving specifications
Citizen lists a stainless-steel case with grey-colored plating, spherical crystal glass, a 48.2 mm case diameter, and 18.5 mm thickness. Those dimensions point to a notably large watch; actual fit will depend on the wearer and was not independently assessed here.

These are manufacturer-published specifications, not results from independent testing. The 300 m rating and listed features describe the watch on paper; they do not constitute a separate assessment of real-world performance.
Release date, announced price, and availability
Citizen listed January 25, 2024 as the release date. Its Philippines announcement gave a projected price of HK$4,980 and cautioned that price and launch details could change. Treat that as regional announcement information rather than a current retail or resale quote. The announcement does not establish present-day inventory, pricing, or availability in any particular market. Citizen Hong Kong’s announcement also dates to January 12, 2024.

Which Citizen Godzilla Promaster is the better fit?
The most direct choice is visual: BJ8056-01E pairs the black dial with monochrome Godzilla artwork, while BJ8059-03Z uses a dark-red dial and a roaring image. Their announced edition quantities differ, but the figures do not show how many pieces remain for sale. Both references otherwise share the design elements and specifications Citizen lists for this collaboration.
For a precise product search or comparison, use the reference number—Citizen Promaster Godzilla BJ8056-01E or BJ8059-03Z—rather than relying on the informal “Ecozilla” nickname.
