It pairs a date display and sapphire crystal with Citizen’s Caliber 8210 movement, a stated 42-hour power reserve and 50 m water resistance. Citizen’s later 37 mm Tsuyosa models offer a smaller size, but they are a separate option—not simply the same watch in a different fit.
What the Citizen Tsuyosa NJ0150-56L offers
The NJ0150-56L gives the Tsuyosa its recognizable integrated-bracelet sports-watch outline: the bracelet meets the case without conventional separate lugs, creating a continuous steel profile. Its blue sunray dial, applied markers and date window keep the design versatile for everyday wear while distinguishing it from a plain three-hand watch.
For the US-listed NJ0150-56L, Citizen specifies a silver-tone stainless-steel case, stainless-steel bracelet with fold-over clasp and push buttons, sapphire crystal and a 40 mm case width. The listed lug width is 9.1 mm. The product page identifies an automatic movement, date, hacking feature, Caliber 8210, a 42-hour power reserve and 50 m water resistance. These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent measurements. See Citizen’s NJ0150-56L specifications.
How its automatic movement works
Citizen says the watch is powered by a wound spring and that automatic mechanical movements do not require a battery. In ordinary use, wrist movement winds the mechanism; the movement can also be wound manually. Citizen lists a 42-hour power reserve, meaning the watch can continue running for that stated period after being fully wound if it is not rewound by wear or by hand. The listing does not establish real-world accuracy, which can vary between individual watches and conditions.

Is 50 m water resistance enough for swimming?
Citizen labels the NJ0150-56L’s 50 m/5 BAR rating “Still Water Swimming.” Treat that as the manufacturer’s stated use guidance rather than an unrestricted diving claim. The rating does not make the watch a dive watch, and the product description does not establish suitability for scuba diving or every water activity. Follow Citizen’s guidance for the specific watch, and ensure the crown is properly positioned before exposure to water.
Choosing between the 40 mm and 37 mm Tsuyosa
Citizen announced a 37 mm Tsuyosa family option in 2025. The NJ0150-56L remains a 40 mm reference; choosing the smaller model is a size decision, not a guarantee that all specifications, colors or details match the 40 mm watch. Wrist shape, bracelet drape and personal preference matter, so neither diameter is universally better.

The NJ0150-56L makes sense as a first automatic if you want a recognizable steel-bracelet design, a date, a battery-free mechanical movement and a sapphire crystal in one straightforward package. Before buying, decide whether a 40 mm case suits your wrist and whether the integrated-bracelet look is the style you want: it is a defining design choice, not a neutral alternative to a conventional bracelet or strap.
