What is the Citizen x seconde/seconde/ watch?
It is a limited-edition Citizen Collection TSUYOSA, reference NJ0157-81L, created with seconde/seconde/, the project of Paris-based artist and watch customizer Romaric André. Citizen described André’s practice as bringing conceptual, playful art to traditional watches and noted that seconde/seconde/ had collaborated with more than 40 global brands. Citizen’s global announcement was published February 20, 2026.
What makes the design different?
The minute hand is shaped like a katana and rendered in a pixelated style that evokes retro Japanese video games. The dial indices look as though the blade has sliced through them. Citizen said the concept draws on “TSUYOSA,” the Japanese word for power or strength; blue appears on both the dial and the sword’s sheath. The caseback bears this message attributed to seconde/seconde/: “Being smaller has never stopped Minutes from slicing Hours into pieces”. This is an inscription on the watch, not a quotation from an interview.

Citizen announced a Japanese suggested retail price of ¥73,700, or ¥67,000 before tax, and a worldwide limited quantity of 3,600 pieces. The release was scheduled for February 21, 2026. These are the figures and date in Citizen’s February 20 announcement; they do not confirm current stock, regional allocations, retailer pricing or resale prices. A limited quantity also does not, by itself, show that the watch sold out or is now rare on the secondary market.
