To set up a CMF Watch Pro 2, pair it through the CMF Watch app, then allow alerts both in your phone’s notification settings and in the app. Keep the app permitted to run in the background; otherwise, alerts may stop when the phone locks or clears background apps.
Check phone compatibility first
CMF lists support for iOS 12 and later, or Android 8.0 and later. That is the stated operating-system requirement, not a guarantee that every phone model or software configuration will work identically. CMF’s notification troubleshooting guidance also requires the watch, companion app, and Bluetooth connection to be in place for message alerts.

Pair the CMF Watch Pro 2 with your phone
- Install and open the CMF Watch app on the phone you want to use.
- Turn on Bluetooth and follow the app’s add-device or pair-device flow and on-screen prompts. Exact screens and wording can vary with the app version.
- When pairing is complete, check that the watch appears as connected in the CMF Watch app.
If the watch was paired to another phone before, disconnect it from that phone before trying to pair it with the new one. If a PIN error continues, restart the watch and try again. Factory reset is a later troubleshooting step, not the first thing to try. CMF’s pairing troubleshooting page covers these recovery options.

Turn on message and app notifications
Message alerts are relayed from the phone’s status bar to the watch through the CMF Watch app over Bluetooth. Both the phone and the app must allow the notifications. CMF’s instructions for message notification problems describe the required permissions.

- Allow alerts on the phone. Open your phone’s notification settings, find the messaging app you want to use, and permit its notifications to appear in the status bar. Menu names vary by operating system and phone maker.
- Enable alerts in the CMF Watch app. Open the app’s notification controls, turn on message notifications, and enable the individual third-party apps you want mirrored, such as WhatsApp.
- Allow background running. In the CMF Watch app’s My section, enable Background Running Permissions.
CMF says a message will not be pushed to the watch if its chat is currently open on the phone. Also, if an app’s notification is not appearing in the phone’s status bar, there is no phone notification for the watch to relay.
Enable phone call notifications
CMF’s Watch Pro line support guidance gives this route: pair the watch in the CMF Watch app, open the Device page, tap Phone Call Notifications, and switch it on. The support page is for the Watch Pro line rather than specifically the Watch Pro 2, so treat the menu label as a guide and check the current app if the wording differs. Why notifications stop when the phone locks
Some phones restrict apps that run in the background. If notifications stop after the screen locks or the CMF Watch app closes, check the phone’s battery or power-consumption settings and allow the app to run in the background. Also check whether the phone has an auto-start permission for the app.

Some Android phones offer an option to lock an app in the multitasking screen or exclude it from background cleanup. The setting name and location depend on the phone maker; consult that maker’s instructions for the relevant controls. CMF identifies background running, battery settings, auto-start, and app cleanup as possible causes of interrupted notification delivery.

Troubleshoot missing message alerts
Check these items in order so you can identify whether the problem is the connection, a permission, or a background restriction:
- Confirm Bluetooth is enabled and the CMF Watch app shows the watch as connected.
- In the phone’s notification settings, allow the target messaging app to display alerts in the status bar.
- In the CMF Watch app, enable message notifications and the switch for each app you want to receive alerts from.
- In the app’s My section, enable Background Running Permissions.
- Review battery and background-power restrictions, auto-start permissions, and any option to lock the app or exclude it from automatic cleanup.
- Check whether the relevant chat is open on the phone; CMF says messages from a chat currently open on the phone are not pushed to the watch.
If pairing itself is the issue, disconnect the watch from its previous phone first. For a continuing PIN error, restart the watch before considering a factory reset.
